Sponsorship Template Letter

Over at UKTerrorist, Paul from Brit clan Nocturne has written up a template letter for clans wishing to approach corporate sponsors. It's part of a series he's doing on helping clans who are looking to go professional that started with this excellent article. Here's how he describes the letter:

"This article deals with approaching sponsors through a letter. Below is only my idea of what a short proposal document should be like. This example is to get you thinking and offer you some inspiration. What you should realise is that no sponsor will give you anything unless he is getting something in return, namely exposure."

I think this may be useful for clans seeking sponsorship, but I don't believe that many companies will be very interested in sponsoring an esport clan. They might sponsor an event. Only the best of the best can expect to be receive any type of corporate sponsorship.

yeah the template is useless to any clan that isnt pretty much famous...i can imagine some 12 yr old from clan [POKE] who doesnt get it send -

i would say only CAL clans (winning ones) have a shot at this, and im sure more of them would rather prefer to write their own letter.

CAL-m clans with good recs can get sponsors, even some CAL-o/im clans. Although they're not usually as good as CAL-i clans sponsors.



I like the template and stuff, it's a good look-at-this-for-help when writing a letter, I don't think you should actually copy it, seeing as any sponsor could look at the UKT article and think "well, obviously they can't compose a simple email to us, I doubt they have the professionalism to stick it through..." or "they couldn't even write their own letter, how competent can they be?"



So that's that.

You have to remember, this article is more intended for the European audience. However it can apply to some americans. Obviousl clan [POKE] aren't going to be interested, nobody is going to sponsor something that doesen't require sponsorship.
