I used to play goldeneye all the time then I stopped... then when I tried to pick it up again, for the life of me I could not get good with the controls

I played Goldeneye and PD recently again, just popping them in to see what it wasl ike real quick. Goldeneye's framrate wasn't nearly as bad as Perfect Darks. I swear after playing newer shooters I felt like I was watching a slide show.xep wrote..
The facility level was so much fun. I remember using the silenced pp7 on 00 Agent and killing everyone. The 00 Agent mode was a bit harder because they had some people on patrol in facility. That and the fact that on agent mode the people died from one shot to the chest(which was still fun). The game was great for its time. The multiplayer was good to play with your friends. Unless you played a 4 screen multiplayer fight with your friends for a few hours I don't see how you can judge the game(heh me and my friends were sometimes nazi's with rules, such as playing golden gun but making it so you had to stay in the area that had the golden gun and everyone tried to dethrone the golden gun person.)
Yes, it ruled to have an army of baddies waiting around for you to come kill them. Being able to take 40 bullets to the chest before dying was a nice feature, too.
Gotta love that single player.. gimme a break.Comment

I don't use custom models.
For custom rules in goldeneye it was simply because we really liked the idea of having 3 people who could shoot each other(or sometimes) work together and assault the goldgun spot(usually facility bathrooms or complex). Man with a golden gun was cool too. One thing that sucked though was playing unlimited golden gun(the one we had rules for) with no rules because it was just too boring for us. Some may find it fun but we didn't like it. Mainly because we looked at each others screen and saw what was happening(like when the golden gun person would watch the doors and wait for the person to come they would know the person is getting ready to). Heh plus when you actually got up there in the bathroom on facility you ended up just running around in circles(struggling with the controls but having fun) trying to doge the person with the golden gun while your teammate may get it then kill you and the person who had the golden gun. Plus I loved the death animations. I'm sure this is all just being polished over by nostalgia and the fact that it was so much fun when I played it. The frame rate would probably eat me alive if I played it now. Of course dice would play it and be like, "Wow, it's at alot higher resolution, higher frames per second, and higher quality textures!".Comment

True, and I never conflicted that. I was simply saying that I hadn't found the single player to be that.. well, challenging, even on 00 Agent mode (I forget if that's what it's called). Seems like virtually all single player FPS are like that though: You are extremely outnumbered by enemies waiting for you to come kill them (But all of them are armed, so apparently they knew you were coming?), and for some reason, you just won't go down.
its called a videogame, retard.
I'm saying that most single player modes of FPS don't make too much sense, though I don't really mind if the gameplay is good.Comment

They wanted you to sneak around? What for? Even if you shot up 20 guys, the guys in the next room behind a thin door would have no idea you were there.
truedat i suppose. I liked Goldeneyes though. You had to sneek around, that wasn't done too much back then.Comment
