This is the first time Valve has announced it disabling a specific hack since VAC was added to CS.



I'm sure the banlist is a scare tactic. That doesn't mean, however, that it won't be used.

because the vac doesnt work.



i played today happily, no probs, then the vac updated on the server i was on, then booted me straight off for having the opengl hack its supposed to stop. i dont have this on my pc.



u may think im lying or that i have no proof. well here it is. 10 mins later i rejoin exactly the same server. it lets me in and i can play. im not banned, i pass the hlguard and the vac doesnt detect anything.



so? how does it kick me for having this cheat. then not even ban me, then let me back in and play with no problems.

There is probably a reason for not banning the hackers immediately. maybe they attach radio transmiters onto the hackers and track their mating/socializing habits so one day Valve might sterilize them all and send them into death camps.



If this is not their plan, then they should ban them now. If their plan is even more malicious, they need mental help.

infact i think its VAC that detects it, not hlguard.



its funny. i got booted, then i deleted the hack and rejoined and i got in.



vac obviously doesnt ban people, and i passed the hlguard too. so i think its just vac

These guys can get new cd-key's right away anyways, they just look for open windows file shares and look for a half-life installation on cable modem and dsl nets. I have a cable modem and 20 worms from windows boxes bounce off my firewall every day, those worms get in by filesharing which means they're open, which means that dedicated cheaters can steal other people's cd-key's and cheat with them.

plus i said i didnt get banned and was able to play afterwards, if i had the cheat surely it would have been detected again?

personally, i dont want them banned.



they cant get in the server with the currect cheats they will be kicked, and as long as valve works on cheats they wont be able to come back in with cheats, but will just keep getting kicked over and over..



since there are alot of reused wonid.. some innocent people may be banned, this is happened with my current server. im out later..
