Hello, and welcome back to your CAL-invite match night. I'm back from my absense after almost being murdered, and am now ready to provide you with some CAL-i match predictions. Last time I predicted, I ended up with 3 perfect scores - let's see if I can't beat that tonight.[break="click through to read about tonight's matches!"]DarkSide -over- Pinnacle :: 16-8
Pinnacle faces DarkSide. DarkSide, while a new team, has had a few nice wins lately, including a victory over RiotSquad; Pinnacle, however, is very inconsistent and just isn't holding up as well in CAL-i as expected. My prediction goes to DarkSide 16-8.
Clan Killers 3 -over- Echo 7 :: 13-11
This prediction is a little daring, as going by record one might want to side with e7. Echo 7, however, just lost their leader, and while CK3 has lost a few members as well, I feel CK3 has what it takes to defeat E7. I have a feeling this prediction may rear around and bite me once we have the real results, but I'm sticking with CK3 for now.
RiotSquad -over- zEx :: 13-11
zEx has been nothing short of on fire, despite their two recent losses to 3D. RiotSquad has always and should always have power behind their punch, especially given their second place in CAL-i last season. Many people will smite me for this prediction, but I'm handing the match to [rs] 13-11.
Issues With Authority -over- Rj45 :: 19-5
What, you say? Sublyme predicts iwa to *gasp* WIN? Yes, that's right, as I feel iwa has pulled their act together. Rj45, meanwhile, still isn't ready to hang with the big dogs. Give it another season, Rj45, and you'll be set; just look at PLAYBOY.
TAU -over- SteelBreeze :: 14-10
Wow, talk about tough to call...I'm a big fan of SB leader destrukt, but I've always had a special place in my heart for TAU and their ability to be a top team despite losing their leader last season. SteelBreeze has proved they can hang tough this season, and TAU is on a slightly lower level lately; whatever the case, I'm putting aside my bias and going with my gut instinct that TAU will take the match 14-10.
FirstWave -over- Power :: 17-7
Word is that most of team Power has departed to go work on building United5...hold on, excuse me for a moment, I want to rant. Why is United 5 even a viable team? They aren't in ANY leagues, they constantly rebuild themselves, and when they were in CAL-i last season they broke up about two weeks in. I have no idea what desire people have to rebuild a crappy clan name under a different roster every 4 weeks, but whatever it is it's managed to neuter another CAL-i clan. FirstWave should have an easy game here and take the win 17-7.
Team Rival -over- WeekEnd Warriors :: 15-9
Hmm...every WEW prediction I make usually turns around and bites me in the ass. Still, Rival is usually pretty solid, whereas WEW is...shaky. I'm handing it to Rival 15-9.
Reality Check -over- The Unknown Factor :: 14-10
Hmm...TuF is yet to taste of victory this season. I may be a little one-sided here, but I don't expect them to take it tonight either; RC should secure a victory tonight 14-10.
The CoolerGuys Renegade -over- New Expert Gamers :: 15-9
neg is really my dissappointment of the season, as I expected them to walk into CAL-i this season and pickup some solid victories; unfortunately, they proved me wrong early on with a crushing 22-2 loss to WEW. CGR, formerly Team Solid, has been doing a ton of reforming, so I'm going to make the gap a little smaller this time around with their victory being 15-9.
TAF -over- PLAYBOY :: 14-10
This looks to be a close match, as PLAYBOY is a solid team but TAF is looking to finally get some wins under their belt. PLAYBOY is really clicking together lately, but for some reason I'm leaning towards TAF on this one.
Excess -over- Team Second Coming :: 19-5
Man, what is there to say? 2c hasn't won a match all season, and ExS constantly proves they have what it takes, for example pushing [rs] to the limit. ExS has this match easy, esp considering some of 2c has broken off to reform another failed CAL-i clan Hybrid.
TSO -over- Digitally Xtreme :: 13-0
Forfeit win; I believe DX is dead.
Short Yellow Bus -over- Team Stomping Grounds :: 14-10
For those not in the know, SYB did a semi-merge with United Space Samurai awhile back, which is a very solid CAL-m clan. The result? SYB should be back and kicking, and I don't think TSG will pull through in this match.
Simply Wicked -over- eminence :: 20-4
If I had to choose another team I like a lot right now, simply Wicked would definitely be at the top of the list. sW has been destroying everyone, despite starting the season off rocky. eminence, meanwhile, is a sinking ship..sorry guys, but sW has this 20-4.
3D -over- Gamers-X :: 13-11
Ok, so the match is rescheduled, but I can still speculate. gX is still undefeated, and 3D just lost their first match ever to DoP. 3D is definitely not looking to lose again, and while gX is a HUGE west coast powerhouse, I believe 3D has this one in the bag.
Domain of Pain -over- TEC :: 14-10
I love you TEC; please be my valentine. TEC has proved their worth well lately, smashing DarkSide 17-7 and really turning some heads. DoP has also done their own rubbernecking by defeating 3D for the first time. I think DoP has this match, but TEC will at least fight it hard.
