TeamGamer.com has posted an interview with the head admins of the new UGS League, Russ Kenny and Brian Salcetti. As we reported yesterday, the UGS is the result of a merger between the RGL and IGL, the #2 and #3 CS leagues, respectively. From the interview:
TG: Introduce yourself/selves, and what is the new leagues name?Yes, I know what you're saying, the interview is 13 questions split up into 13 pages, I don't know why either. You can read it here though.
Russ: My name is Russ Kenny I took over the IGL-CS league in Nov 2001 and have
been playing CS since the very early beta's. I have been in numerous
clans in CS, Q2, Q3, and DOD and have been in almost all the CS leagues.
Brian and I have been in the process of planning this league since May. With both of our leagues still running and the summer downtime with clans, we decided to hold off
our release until August.
Brian: My name is Brian Salcetti and I have been playing CS for about 2 1/2 years. I
started up Battle in the East (BiTE) in Sept 2000. The league then received a full sponsorship to create a larger and more professional league called Recon Gamer League (RGL). Russ and I started talks in January and then started the planning of this new league in May. The new name of our amateur league is United Gaming Syndicate (UGS).
