yeah, it's a bitch out there... but i have faith CAL will make this more organized once clans start cooperating.

On that thought, they should incorporate fy_iceworld, also, because, you know, CS isn't a team oriented game or something like that. Fy_iceworld caters to true CS gamestyle: rush and kill with each round lasting 30 seconds. What a wonderful idea!
why de_nuke, they should try assault in order to test the CTs teamwork mettle.Comment

3d rec 8-1
zEx rec 8-1
I'm really surprised to see the match turn out as it did, I expected it to be much closer, nevertheless, its good to see a not so close one, proving 3D can demolish even undefeated teams.
Sad to see zEx lose one tho =(
Only 2 perfects this time. =X you guys are losing your touch!Comment

Edited by [user="35301"] @ [time="1025599901"]CAL really should release HLTV ips and times 24 hours in advance. If the clans aren't ready at the said time...i say tough shit 24-0 forfeit. CAL-I is suppose to be the "professional" league for online play. You don't see NBA games delayed because *insert player name here* had to beat the last level of super mario advance. They are trying to make this into a spectator sport, but they sure aren't doing a very good job.
Amen, brother. I was in #caleague-cs last week "discussing" this very thing with one of the twenty or so idling admins there and we had a protracted and unproductive conversation that was filled with business-savvy insights like "some clans don't like HLTV," and, "the earth is round."
When you get a chance read the Angel Munoz article that was linked here a few days ago (http://gamer.net.nz/?1445). Here's an excerpt:
Interviewer: Can you tell us more about how you plan to lure more casual gamers along to game tournaments?
Angel: One method is through the Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL). When we launch the new interface for CAL and expand it worldwide, it should become a powerful vehicle in attracting casual gamers to the hardcore gaming circles and will create more interest in the CPL competitions. Working closely with the media to help us inform the general public of our activities is also another powerful resource.
Later on Mr. Munoz says:
Angel: The real key for this to be a success is to do these events (CPL) on live television
Here you have Angel Munoz himself emphasizing the need for fans/spectators to be able to see Counter-Strike live in order to for the CPL to succeed (read: make money) and touting CAL league as a way to achieve those goals.
So let's run down what happened in CAL tonight:
We had 32 of the nation's top clans playing head-to-head in 16 Counter-Strike matches (including one clan that suffered a noteworthy first loss last week), a couple of thousand fans/spectators begging for HLTV in a dozen #irc channels, and not one working HLTV ip (did you try to watch 3D tonight, too? What a joke). Is this how they plan to create a successful business? By frustrating and pissing off their core fans?
Under the right circumstances, I would gladly pay a $10 pay-per-view fee to watch the CPL finals on regular TV or HLTV. I'm sure many others would, too. However, as long as the daily operation of this "professional league" is run by short-sighted teenagers without any business sense, it ain't going to happen, and these "733t" clans are going to be driving state-to-state playing LAN events for beer/gas money and a geForce card for the rest of their lives.Comment

i'd like to see you do ANYTHING CLOSE to what i do in a night in less than 2 hours. i'll GARAUNTEE you that you can't do it. have you any idea how many people are PM'ing me (and my bot) and how hard it is to stay on top of SO MANY MATCHES all at once? no, i'm quite sure you don't.
and i've been around longer than you have, i'm sure. don't bring this down to a "IVE BEEN SINCE BETA .328925" argument. i'm talking about THIS league. i know this league pretty damned well, and for all the research that i DO do, i'm pretty sure i know which teams i remember and which ones i don't.Comment

TSO vs. Power will be a GOOD match. I understand your vote for TSO because of their continuous winning streak but it will be a good match. Who knows something might happen you will be amazed by. :P ^_^Comment
