Bah, I would take that Noob thing back, beside i dont hate u but i am merely stating a FACT.

There were posts A HELL LONGER than this.

P.S. I am Asian, so dont diss at my English. And by the way, I use British English, NOT YANK or CANADIAN ENGLISH.

How does the amount of game that a company put out decide wether or not a company is good?
Blizzard and Westwood ( which first release Dune 2 ) become famous overnight for releasing Warcraft and CnC.

Valve became famous after it release Half-Life, which revolutionises ll FPSs.

Ok...looks like poor zipzap, is the victim of everyone's flamethrowers.

As much as I desire to assist zap, but looking at the apparent missing brain cells in his head, and his complete misunderstanding of the difference betw a PUBLISHER and a DEVELOPER leaves me only 1 thing to say........

        zap.........u are really an idiot.

"Canadian English" is "British English". Observe... COLOUR!

This is from a Family Guy episode and I think it's funny.
Louis! The Drunken Clam's been taken over by a buncha lousy, limey, tea-suckin' British bastards!
And as for my earlier 'Raven' post, I have a rebuttal. Raven's games may not be 'Half-Life' caliber, but they're still great. The median score for SoF, JK2, and EF in PC Gamer is equal to about 90%. These games probably come close to Half-Life in quality, but it's the lack of community/mods that keeps them together.

Oh yeah, anyone who says Valve isn't trying to milk Half-Life is wrong. Anyone play Blue Shift? You can tell they needed some extra cash and put that out the door for all us suckers. I beat it in two freakin' hours. That's $30/hour.

So let's stop praising Valve for job well done. Honestly, what have they contributed to Half-Life since they released it? Don't give me a little list of technical fixes either because developers are suppossed to patch their games. The real kudos goes to the community, for sticking with a frustrating company and waitng (not so) patiently.

Yes, obviously the community has worked very hard on Half-life during extensive playing of free mods.

                Hmm let's see...

                -Built in demo player

                -3 new maps/custom art

                -VAC

                -Integrated Comms

                -Steam

-Very involved levels of Mod support

                -Mod expo's

                -HLTV

Yes all they do is fix bugs. Oh and add new features listed above that take time effort and money and at no expense to you.

That is the single most stupid and unsubstantiated statement i have ever read on these comment boards.

The lack of gratitude from a community thats been deluged with fixes and free support for years astounds me.

There hasn't been anything from Valve that even REMOTELY resembles a "deluge", unless you're counting bullshit interivews. It sure as hell doesn't describe the patches.

Doesn't describe the patches? What are you talking about? Just about everything in that list is from the Half-life patches. Are you suggesting the patches are not frequent enough?

Well mouth disagrees to where Valve has brought CS (even if they're controlled by the CS team), so he's just going to say that Valve doesn't support CS or HL.

No it's not a great flood of support, but it is far more than any product that I have seen. About 3.5 years ago I paid $50 for Half-Life. I have not bought any product from Valve since (besides a copy of GOTY Edition for my friend's birthday). I have never seen money last for so long in a such a positive way.

I'm not going to write more than I need to to prove that Valve supported their product. It's obvious. They have gone far beyond the call of duty. They could have left Half-Life as an impossible to mod wasteland with quite possibly the worst netcode ever (I'm talking about the optimizations made before the netcode overhaul which you may or may not like).

It's a silly notion, mouth, to simply refuse to accept the obvious effort of Valve simply because you believe that the effort is misdirected or ruining the game.

i think half-life is the best, even after years infront of the spotlight the HL engine seems to have a element hat just keeps us playing...which is what we all love. But recently i think HL has went downhill...i mean...HL was at its peak at one stage...with countless mods and constant upgrades.....but when a game is at its peak the only way is down....sadly.

Blue-Shift.......great mapping...lovely sequences.....involving the player more than ever.....but too short. Its sad when a game achieves so much but is spoilt by the time it takes to complete e.g. Max Payne. It felt like i had just stepped into the shoes of Gordon and had just found my fiirst tool of destruction a bright shimmmering crowbar....and then BAM i was in staring at my monitor in disbelief wondering why the screen had went black.........the end.......eh?.....it cant be...can it?. 20 quid.........i felt i had been betrayed.......my faith was shook..but i still love it.........it is a shame to end on a downer...well...for now.

I totally disagree with the shite you are talking about. Without the patches and fixes that Valve provided, many great HL mods like DOD, CS, TFC etc all would have gone down the drain.

By the way, without Valve 3D blending textures, all of the retail / versions CS player skin MDLs would have look like shit and it would be almost impossible to get new and great looking weapon skins. And not to mention, the support they give to the mod makers.

Hint:Would you see a 'custom game' button, if Valve did not patch HL ?

CS-Classic may bring back the memories....(for some of us)....it may show us how far mappers have come in terms of the quality of maps, it may also show us how it all started.....making it a great historical tour......sadly thats where it stops.

Classic, in my opinion is just a way of making all the anti-1.5 players be quiet....making negative comments on CS just float away. Classic maps are poor...admit it..ok, they started it all off...but they have had their time and their deserved respect...its time to move on.........the definition of realism for the classic maps translates to the word Fantasy........its time to move on people....pick up that tasty M4a1 or the shined up Ak47 and lets blow away some 1.5 cannon fodder.

Classic wants to hold out........for our sake...because once the cell by date expires on classic all the moaning gits will be back...to spoil the game once more. Now CS has been made retail..more people have started playing........its not just the die-hard fans that have battled for years, there is a whole new batch of players.......is this good?,......depends on how you look at it.........now we have different types of people playing...e.g. youngsters who use different tactics, which ultimately will change the gameplay, but also we have more noobs......more cheats......more of everything....................the lesson to be learned is simple........its all bad new for the old men of CS.

I wonder is the message boards here can gain the opportunity to stardom by: 1) Polish somebody's shoes so much that he/she can gain recognition from the important people here. 2) Type something here that makes people on fire when they read it, that makes the messager the most hated character in the message board. or....3) provide your own extensive knowledge about CS or boast your CS playing skills that people out there who reads it are totally impressed.
