I don't think you quite have a grasp of the concept yet, Sierra is the publisher and valve are the developer I don't actually recall anyone saying Half-life was made by sierra, because it's not. Sierra package and market the game. Valve design and make the game.

Bungie made all of Halo. Valve made all of Half-Life. I have yet to hear of companies inside of these companies. I realize that you're so uninformed that you absolutely must have info we don't. Oh, wait, no you don't! Because you're an idiot! Valve and Bungie may have divisions, frankly none of your business and fairly irrelevant. Sierra and Microsoft published Half-Life and Halo, respectively.
Bungie did very, VERY little work on Halo and all the work was done by aa company in a company. Can anyone say Valve?
I like how you act as if no one knows who Bungie is. PC gamers have been drooling over Halo for years, you idiot (see the list above for reference).Comment

Developer-One who actually "works" on the game and produces it, developing it if you will, for use, from start to finish.
Traditionally (at least, one would think) the Publisher has very, very little, if any, control over the actual workings of the game, and the Developer has very, very little, if any, control over the marketing and release of the game. (although I'm not incredibly informed on this subject)
By the way, Microsoft bought Bungie awhile after Halo was in development. If you want to get more informed check out http://halo.bungie.org/Comment

OMG can you just STFU and admit it when your being a fucking retard? You don't know what your talking about, leave it at that or ppl are gonna drown you in here.
"Ooooohh man you're REALLY uninformed, or just too young to know any of this. I certainly hope you're being sarcastic about thinking that Halo is what made Bungie famous"
Oh just like HL is "made" by Sierra? Bungie did very, VERY little work on Halo and all the work was done by aa company in a company. Can anyone say Valve? I'm pretty sure the company within a company with the box of the companies company is the company of companies named Trigon or something but im positive that the company within a company with the box of the companies company is the company of companies is a under bungie just like vlave is under sierraComment

After playing this mod for about an hour or two, i realised each server i went to had absolutely no community, there was no team work, and everyone just ran around going mad.
I have played cs since the very very start, and to be honest, this is nothing like the original cs. The mod may be close to 1.1, but you simply cant replace the people of 1.1......if you get what i mean, We should be lookin toward the future of cs, and bringing out this sucky mod just spoils things.Comment

This is the funniest thing I have seen since before noon. I don't know if it's the bold, capitalized letters or the list consisting of only one thing, but it's likely due to the fact that I am a complete failure. Hug me.

Usually companies announce their projects before they come out. When numerous/every company announces games years in advance, and Valve hasn't announced anything, there has to be something wrong. Sure, you can say that they're working on "inside" jobs, but there's zero evidence that there is actually anything being done.
Yes for the past 4 years valve have done nothing simply because you don't know about it. They sat back and said ``hay, lets spend the money we made with half-life on pretzels and bulk orders from thinkgeek.com. No. Try and use your brain a little more. Has it occured to you they may have decided not to tell people about projects? That they may be spending their time working on their own stuff?
I guess not.
And use your brain, narby. Why would a company not announce something as large has Half-Life 2 or something bigger? Unless there is something wrong and either they've screwed it up or they don't have anything, I don't see any reason why a game company wouldn't announce something like that. I'm not saying Valve hasn't done anything I'm just suspecting the fact that there isn't anything to be shown yet. Just seems odd, that's all.
And yes, I would also milk a great game for everything it's worth if it's still being sold, however, there should be another gaming project done by Valve within those same 4 years.
Also, CZ is being developed by Gearbox, not Valve.Comment

Wow, puffycloud was right! He IS rizzuh! /me adds another person to "List o' People I Hate and Hope Get Severely Hurt".
Yes, CS Classic sucks, but I don't see why all the pro 1.4/5 players have to be such dickheads towards the people who prefer the earlier versions. (*Cough*rizzuh+puffycloud!!!*Cough*) Just because you want things to lean more towards realism doesn't mean we can't want things to lean more towards fun... Jerks.Comment

Thank you for that wonderful synopsis. Companies never release their new titles until they want to, or the publisher see's fit. They don't have a set of concrete guidlines that say ``yes its exactly 30% into the project and time to release the information!''

One of the reasons you don't release information is because you don't want to create false hype that may cause people to get annoyed if a game is delayed (I think valve know this pretty well from the stick they get about TF2) so is it any wonder they're reserving their announcements?
If they're not developing anything in these past 4 years what are they doing? biding their time? taking a REALLY long vacation after half-life? Unlikely.
I just think people need to cut Valve some slack and stop demanding they provide you with everything you dream of right this second. Shouting and screaming about their apparent inactivity (if you can really call it that with all the community work, product support and tertiary technology they've been supplying) for the past few years won't get you a new game any faster so why not just wait and see?
Game turn arounds for sucessful companies are at their own pace and discretion.
And thank you for correcting me about CS:CZ, I think working on it for all this time has warped my fwagile wittle mind.Comment

heh. I was talking to someone who said that CZ was being made by Valve earlier.
I agree now with narby. I would, however, like to see some sort of info about it. Kind of like Doom III, where it's really quiet and behind close doors. I'd rather see Valve come out and say "Hey guys, HL2 is being done as we speak" rather than complete media silence.Comment
