HL Sound Selector v3.0

[CSN NewsBot]

Due to the popularity of Half-Life Sound Selector, Disk2 has released version 3.0 in order to fix some bugs. It fixes the problems that users with Win98 and WinMe were experiencing. Version 3 also adds some some new features.

• fixed a problem in the sound switching function that caused hlss to not function properly on many computers (bug affected windows 98/me users)
  
  
• added script setup feature that will automatically setup your mod to work with hlss
  
  
• added an expanded buffer size option (up to 2 mb) for users with exceptionally long sound bites
  
  
• added option that allows users to choose where the black bar is show: top, bottom, or hidden
  
  
• improved logging functionality (again)
  
  
• fixed a bug in the editing function that would edit the sound entry even if the user clicked cancel
  
  
• added link to the hlss website in the about box

Yea u did update that thing quite fast, gj man. It works quite nicely btw, if u dont midn the crappy sound quality of HL voice comm. Glad to see us 9X'rs havent been forgotten.

Yeah exactly. The quality itself is pretty bad, but then the compression just makes it worse.

I remember, back before 1.3 came out, Valve talking about a high quality broadband version of the voice comm. But I haven't heard a word about it since...

A good friend of ours works for SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) and went to this years E3. While there he got a video interview with Randy Pitchford of Gearbox, and asked him some questions (many of them ours). The video should be ready soon.
