the thing's a pile of shit. it has all of the badness of the various betas i.e., awp 1-hit kill legshots (which may be realistic but is also fucking lame), bunny hopping, screwed up hitboxes, etc., with none of the sensible improvements of the new versions, i.e. bomb/hostages on the radar. it's just a mutt. they shouldve at least stuck with recreating one beta instead of just making a mutt, compliling the various flaws of all of them. i like the idea and appreciate whoever tried to make it work, but it doesnt.

in all seriousness, I would have to say MY persoanl favorite versions have been b7.1 and v1.0 1.1 and 1.3 introduced a bunch of tweaks I didn't care for, though once I adapted I played as I normally do.
Having a hell of a time adapting to 1.4/1.5 though D:Comment

CSCLASSIC is a mod for Half-Life that tries to resemble the beta days of Counter-Strike. None of you should be bitching about the work someone put into this mod, becuase nobody else has put together something as good as this one. Remember that this mod resembles THE BETA DAYS, and during the betas there were some problems. So this mod is far from being perfect if you try to compare it to 1.5. Those that don't like fast bunnyhopping, one hit awp kills, etc.. DONT PLAY THIS THEN. 1.5 has fixed all the stuff that you people have been complaining about. I guess in a way, this mod has brought back all the 'problems' and bugs that CS used to have for the enjoyment of people who used to like it that way.
I personally play both of them although there are few csclassic servers. My point is, dont bitch about this mod becuase it has problems.. the beta days had problems and thats what this mod is trying to recreate.Added @ [time="1025038729"]mouth wrote..
if you download and install the old official cs beta files, your gonna screw up your current version of cs, and there are few people that are gonna be playing the same beta that you are. cs classic is a mix of all the betas, and it doesnt interfere with 1.5. neway, i started playing CS at l8 1.3 and liked jumping.
Mouth, try this jump up 3 or 4 times, you should realise that if theres a big hairy fool with a gun behind you it doesnt matter how many times you jump or if your running, you WONT GET TIRED.
1.4 and 1.5 were good, and HS's have gotn easier.
