I started playing CS around 6.5 or so so I am going to dl this and play it because I have never played the early versions of CS.

on the left-hand menu, go to tweaking-->FPS Tweak Guide and there's lots of stuff you can do there, including super-low-poly models to help fps.



And yes it says it's a n00b FAQ but there's quite a large amount of useful info there.

thanks, i alredy tweaked my cs graphics to look like shit, but it makes no difference... sometimes i get great fps sometimes its unplayable... i have no clue why

Well thats cos DoD turns more towards Realistic Damage, If CS had realistic damage, u cud pop a terr with one bullet to the chestm unless u SEE a kevlar he has on. Silly moo head :P

Just because i "cud" singe off a teammate's butthair with my muzzleflash and marvel at the "realistic damage" doesn't mean it's a "feature" that needs to be in a game.

I looked in all the options as well as in game but I'm still stuck w/ left handed modles.

The best version of CS was 1.3 cause u could still jump normally but without the gayness of gaining speed like a homo. I cannot stand people who use bugs to there advantage, and people who cry when a bug is fixed. I admit that the jumping in 1.4 was a bad idea but the jumping in 1.3 wasnt a bug because u didnt gain speed so why fix it? All it did was let you jump constantly, u didnt actually gain an advantage by jumping. If we had a poll asking which was the best version of all time, I would vote for 1.3 cause of no gay jumping limitations and the M4 wasnt as overpowered in 1.3 or overused (as much)

the thing's a pile of shit. it has all of the badness of the various betas i.e., awp 1-hit kill legshots (which may be realistic but is also fucking lame), bunny hopping, screwed up hitboxes, etc., with none of the sensible improvements of the new versions, i.e. bomb/hostages on the radar. they shouldve at least stuck with recreating one beta instead of just making a mutt, compliling the various flaws of all of them. i like the idea and appreciate whoever tried to make it work, but it doesnt.
