I'm waiting for a movie to come on, I'm on holidays, I'm bedroomless due to my celing being replaced tomorrow, I just ate so I can't go for my run yet, etc etc... And I don't have CS on this computer...

The ak recoil is not in need of fixing, that is what occurs "In reality"

due to the guns design... look it up if you care to disagree.

      From SummerBlue again..

In the bullet dispertion video, each frame lasts for 0.05 seconds. Bullets, once fired from a weapon, follow a straight line until they hit an object. This means that the barrel of the weapon, at the point of firing, must be pointing at the location where the bullet impacts.

It can be seen that the positions of consecutive bullet impact points change by such a large amount that the barrel of the weapon is changing angle so quickly (in the 0.05 seconds between each round) that several laws of physics relating to mass, acceleration and inertia are being broken.
First and foremost, good luck on your room.

However it is just not the AK that needs fixing, but the whole recoil system in CS. Read the SummerBlue report to see what I mean (if your secondary computer has broadband and can handle DivX.)

By the way... Can you tell I'm bored? :P

        nooooooo.

YESSSSSSS! (A Night at the Roxbury )

Actually technical crap aside I read that a ak deruvitive that the soviets used had a barrel that was sculpted at the end to help negate the recoil up to the left... So I'm going to stick by a book, it made sense at the time :)

PS ty about the room. I cleared it out today and I never knew I owned so much.

PPS cheetarah congrats on becoming the leeched fourth parth, the one that attacks the third ;D

                Long post... beware.

First off... the accuracy thing. Even if you don't care, check out that summerblue CS Report. I read it a few months back, and while it's talking about 1.3, and some issues have since been fixed, it's still a very good report. Anyway, sure, looking at mods like DoD, or games like Operation Flashpoint, I see recoil and aiming systems that make sense, bullets tracing nice upward patterns, with virtually no accuracy if running much, and nice things like "swaying" as a sniper.

This is CS though. It has more of an arcade feel to it than DoD does. As such, realistic or not, we all know the rule set for the accuracy, and how to comphensate for it. The whole purpose is to make you slow down, and actually aim quick shots, instead of just ramboing in there like a madman. And you know what? It's worked. Sure, you can get lucky when going full auto at long range. But if the guy you're shooting at is being more careful, he's gonna get you first. And that's what counts. Realistic recoil would work, but isn't really necessary to keep the game dynamics correct.

rizzuh, that's very big of you to try to refrain from responding to GonePostal anymore. However, I have made no such restrictions on my own actions just yet, though it's getting more and more tempting...

If Minh is working on CS2, that means he is not playing CS much
You don't have a job, do you GonePostal? So from the perspective of those of us who aren't still leeching off of our parents, let me explain something to you. It actually, amazingly enough, is possible to hold down a full time job and play CS on the side.
thus he probably isn't very competent to make certain changes.
Oh crap, what were we thinking? To think, all along we've been trusting the future of CS to the guy who singlehandedly created it... how could we be so stupid?!? I mean, hell, obviously some random jackass posting on a CS fan forum would be way the heck more competent to know what changes to make, right?
I don't know many of cliffe's opinions. If he thinks like you do, that aimed headshots are impossible at long range because he can't make them, he isn't competent either. Just because you lack the simple skill to point and click at a head 70 feet away means that the game should be changed so no one can.
There's a difference between aiming on occasion for a headshot at long range and pulling it off with a quick shot, and aiming for "near the head", then holding down the trigger and waiting for lady luck to deliver you the goods. Aiming for a head at 70 feet at many resolutions is equivalent to roughly 2x2 pixels of target area. I'm glad you seem to think you can always land bullets in a moving block of 4 pixels, but for most people, it's not something they can consistantly do.
I can tell you don't care about any opinion that disagrees with yours, that's for sure. You are still convinced the earth is flat because you don't care about any opinion that disagrees. You have no reason to dislike me except yourself. I have never flamed you or anyone here without them flaming me first. I'm just telling you what I see, no need to get personal.
Just because you haven't started "flaming" someone doesn't mean you haven't been a complete ass to them and/or been a general idiot in front of the community. Remember, whenever you post, you're putting yourself in front of others for criticizm. And at the moment, the general consensus of that criticizm is that you've been acting like an arrogent, immature, and foolish jerk. If you are not an arrogent, immature, and foolish jerk, perhaps it's time to take a good hard look at yourself, and what is causing others to see you this way. Stop blaming rizzuh. Stop believing everyone who actually likes rizzuh or the CS team or new changes or anything else you hate must simply be an "ass kisser" of some sort. Did the thought ever cross your mind that maybe it really is you and your actions and attitude that make people dislike you? Or do you go through life constantly convincing yourself that you're never accountable?
According to your polls, more people prefer 1.3 gameplay to 1.4/1.5.
Actually, some of us said we liked 1.3 jumping better because we do, but don't have any problem with 1.4+ jumping.

Don't get all mad about this post. It's not meant for the simple purpose of cutting you down or making you feel bad or anything (to which, you'd probably respond that you couldn't care less what I think, so it doesn't matter). Sure, rizzuh has given up on you, and sees you as hopeless. Perhaps he's wiser for it, and we should do the same. But alas, I have the problem of keeping that glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, you'll come to some sort of realization that most people don't like how you're acting. And on an even longer stretch of the imagination, perhaps you'll have enough social concern to not only think of yourself and your ego, but of others as well, and try to be a little more acceptable of a person. Then again, maybe you'll just blow this off, post in reply calling me some sort of an idiot or ass kisser, claiming I've ignored your brilliant arguments and go on your merry way.

I certainly hope that you'll take a moment, calm down, and think before you decide which path you want to take. Because beyond a certain point, no one will care to tell you the truth about yourself anymore, but will end up just ignoring you. And really, it's always much nicer to see someone let go of their pride and end up a better person as a result. It's your choice.

The CS team didn't "fuck up" anything. In case you haven't noticed, it's been two months and a lot of people are happy with 1.4 and 1.5. We didn't all just leave like you and zimzap would have predicted.

Once again you attack the people behind the change and the people who support it rather than presenting a conclusive argument as to why jumping should be reverted. And then you act like you presented a real argument when you just flamed three people for "being out of touch." Gooseman does not play CS because he is making CS2, but cliffe does play CS quite often and I can almost promise that he was the one who pushed the change through. I play CS almost daily; time permitting, of course, because this site is a large responsibility. We're not out of touch we're simply not of the same viewpoint as yourself.
Hmm good job of making stuff up. I never said that passive people would play I said that fewer people will buy CS. When more then around 40 percent of the population is against a move, it should not be made. And the people against the walking most be in the 70 percents from a few polls. Is the walking changed back when people don't like it? No its not and there is no good reason. If they even try to say its more realistic Im gonna flip on their stupidity.

Thats the only reason why I didn't like the jumping. Valve tried to BS us by saying it makes it more realistic. If CS was more realistic you lose all your money after you die. If CS was more realistic you can't buy guns. If CS was more realistic CTs win every single time with air raids. If CS was more realistic you would bleed to death after being shot. If CS was more realistic you would have to rebuy the game after you die. Get the point yet?

Again with the fucking air raids? Was it not made clear how utterly retarded that statement was the first time you used it, or is that just a tactic the SAS employs when they're bored with manning aircraft carriers?

There's a difference between realistic and "TOTAL MIND-CRUSHING REPLICATION OF REALITY". Get the point yet, fucko?

                              Hey GonePostal,

Sup. I must commend you for your post. It sure has brought the Nerd Club from their lairs for a few minutes to defend CS. It's funny how adamant people are about this game. If I were to look back on 3 years now, I think this is CS's greatest achievement/failure. I love CS, but it's just a game. Enjoy while it's here, but not too much.

cs is not realistic, never has been, never will be, just leave it with that. the only thing to look out for is balance and gameplay.

actually rze, i disagree with you. if i could change one thing in cs (besides pistol accuracy ) it would be to remove headshots at short distance.

aiming skills in cs have always been, due to recoil and random spray pattern, optimizing your luck. of course it's not possible to get a headshot at long distance all the time, but you can aim in a way that the chance of getting a headshot is increased. that's what i do, that's what everybody does. you still have to aim at the head, otherwise your bullets will be completely off. in close quarter combat now, is completely sufficient to point your crosshair somewhere in the vicinity of your enemy (again due to spray pattern and recoil) to get a headshot, that's what mp5 spraying is all about. i rarely get killed by lucky long distance headshots anyway, and if i do, it normally is someone with a good score. in cs, the longer the distance the more accurate you have to aim.

i hate the amount of luck that is currently involved in cs. and that's not gonna change, otherwise Valve wouldn't have changed pistol accuracy, the last weapons that actually shot where you aimed them at.
