Friendly fire happens when you lead a coordinated assault. Honestly the US involvement in both Iraq and Afghanistan dwarfed that of our allies so accidents, which have always happened in war, will follow the country with the biggest amount of men on the field. Furthermore, the guy who did that is a complete idiot and will probably be charged for his crimes.



I don't even really need to say anything. The only complete idiot here, Jackshot, has been British. That makes me very happy and probably disallows you limey bastards to use any sort of education or intelligence remark.

I believe that is the point of a colition. The British press is skewed. You read headlines like, "UK Army dashes Afghan Rebels," or some other nonsense. The fact is that the main effort is from Americans. Obviously the British cover the British side of things.

And comparing the SAS to our entire armed forces is ridiculous. But anyways I don't see how playing *ahem* 'training' on a PC is going to help much. Sure you can use it for tactical planning, but I don't think it will help all that much in a real life situation.

All that stuff about this being a "global war on terrorism" is crap. I didn't see Germany or France or your 'greatest ally' Britain being attacked. So it should be a mostly American effort. I mean, you're the ones they pissed off.



Britain contributes their measly little units (as does Canada, and everyone else) to fool the people of those respective countries into thinking that their soldiers are really helping the effort, when really they're just there so they can say they were there.



Honestly, when the US sends over God-knows-how-many men over there, are the two or three units from Canada really going to make a big difference? Answer: No.

True but I think that mentally, "simulated" exercises can be helpful, i.e. to go over situations or manuvers in an artifical environment to help you better execute plans or make situational decisions in real life. I've never been in the military and haven't gone through this kind of training, but it seems to make sense. I know all the time spent thinking and practicing soccer (or FOOTBALL for those sensitive to terminology) helped tremendously in the games. But don't go misreading this post and try to say I think that soccer and combat are the same thing, 'cause they're not. I'm just saying conceptually the effects of training in both combat and soccer are similar in their aforementioned effects.
