CS is a game about teamplay among otherthings, and it excludes deathmatches IMO.

On my server was recently plugged in de_airninja.

From this time, I started to hate deathmach.



Bad Map = Map that leads more often to deathmatch than teamplayed objecive.

The worse defusal map by far would have to be de_survivor... Now i must be the 200th person to have said this but it is because it really is a horrible map. First of all the bombsites are pointless...why would terrorist want to blow up a crashed airplane anyway? The map is too large with too many wide open areas.... the airplane bombsite for example.... the crows are a good effect but when you look up to see them you will always fall of the ice into the river below...



um i have already said to much...

I would have voted for aztec though. The aztec concept: The team with most awps win (i.e. CT 80% of the time). Sure, it's fun when I go 46-7 with awp, but I doubt all those with 5-20 on the T team think so.

For anyone to even suggest that aztec is not the most popular league map out there is insane, but you went the extra mile and even managed to label it a "n00b" map.

I did neither of those things. What i did say is that popularity amongst the "pro" scene is an absurd way to determine whether a map is good or not.



Looking at the maps flow is one way to judge a map, as is looking at the balance and even r_speeds. Looking at whether Jimbob "new clan each week" Railgunner likes it or not, however, does not figure into the criteria.

Why is it u all hate survivor??? i liked it. though its dumb who would want to bomb a crashed mini plane and a truck that looks like it has no where to go.

Storm shouldn't even be included in the list. Its a brilliant map.



All the other maps on the other hand are..er..crap. I didnt expect vegas to get the highest no of votes tho, that should surely belong to the shockingly bad survivor.



Chateau definitely had to be included.



Piranesi now...ill admit i havent played that much, but, altho it looks really nice and introduces new gameplay elements, is simply MASSIVE. 'nuf said.

dust and aztec only work with 12 players or less, or if the terrorist team outskills the cts. i mean, honestly, dust offers 2 fricking choke points, what can be more deathmatch like. if the ct team knows what their doing terrorist don't stand a chance, normally resulting in cts rushing and ts basecamping. the reason why it's popular is BECAUSE it offers deathmatch style gameplay.



now dust2 on the other hand is great, very easy to remember and still offers lots of tactical options and routes to go.



aztec..hmm...i like it, always liked it (same as good old prodigy or nuke, no one has mentiond nuke so far, normally everybody hates it), but it's unbalanced as well. i remember clanbase nations cup germany against...hmm, sweden me thinks. two really good teams played aztec, charger wins only, and both were only able to score a single terrorist round. that's what i call unbalanced.

De_survivor sucks, i'd hate it less if it made any sense at all... what's the point in blowing up an airplane that has crashed? Why is the plane so small? Lets blow up a truck instead? Why is there a crate in that building? Why is this map official?

If you read the story on the map, i think it said that the plane has crashed and the CT's havent finished unloading it (i dunno, maybe the stuff is in the walls) so you bomb it.

You're not; I was waiting for someone to mention this. Here's the full plot line from the de_survivor.txt file:

Storyline:

In a heavy snowstorm a plane carrying a

topsecret load gets in trouble. The

onboard guard parachute to safety. They

recover the crashed plane and start

unloading the cargo into a captured

truck. But the weather plays a second

trick as heavy snowfall prevent the

SWAT-team from getting the entire cargo

over to the truck.



Terrorist have tracked the plane as well

and in an attempt to prevent the Swat-Team

from escaping with their valuable load

they set a plan to bomb the two possible

locations of the load.

The only "special cargo" in de_survivor are the genetically engineered midgets that were flying the plane. Several of them went on to build that little midget town. Some of those people were complaining about the commute and labored hard to build cars before realizing that they couldn't drive anywhere.



The rest, tragically, died while trying to use their own poorly made bridges. That's what the birds are circling for.
