CSPickup has been in development for some time but it has finally launched. The concept behind it is similar to that of playgrounds, where all the little children gather to play lacrosse and teams are chosen. Except this is a video game where you kill each other, but you get the idea. If you want to play, registration on their site is necessary. Also, join #cspickup on Quakenet and use some spiffy commands they created. However, it seems it is geared toward the Europeans, so those of us in the States might have some ping problems. Anyway, go take a look at their site and sign up since it sounds like a good idea.

lol, yes this should work on gamesnet too... you know what. I had this idea a long time ago, and I was going to do it. But then I started working for a league so now I lost my chance and somebody else did it. Oh well.

We use to play Pichup or Gathers for ages here :)
It also came on creation of "fake teams" where some skilled players signup as players with a real fake name, and play against team, team is always changing, but it provide good game, no camping, that are lots found on publics servers.
I think u cud try it, to acces the irc channel, u've to open a "new connexion server" in mirc, then select Quakenet as network (and not Gamesnet) and pick a server in the list :).
There are lots of servers, one of them is hosted in paris and linked to Above.net that got 2.5Gb traffic at the datacenter.
server is : euroserv.fr.quakenet.org
Try this one, i thing u can get a "good" ping :) I get around 250ms on gamesnet, and the same on most of the US game servers :)
