Of course it's unprofessional. No one is operating under the assumption that the people involved are anywhere near being "professional". You're preaching to the choir, as it were.



It's hard to really give a shit about a "pro" scene so pathetically unstable that a run-of-the-mill OGL clan with a Geocities webpage has the same life expectancy.

And that's what I said in my earlier posts. People won't care about such an un-professional "pro" community because it's so unstable and reflects the immaturity of many of its players. Like I said before, in order for e-sports and pro CS in particular to gain more recognition, its participants need to start acting like professionals.



By the way, considering that the "professional" Clan scene is meant to be just that, with people playing for money, especially in the Cyberathlete Professional League, I would say that we are indeed operating under the assumption that the people involved are professional CS players. Their actions ourside of the games are what's unprofessional, but their nature as players is professional.

The thing is that the players have no real commitment to the clan and can therefore switch them like socks.



IF the coach would to pay the players, use contracts, sell players and so on then we would get a much more stable and mature "pro" scene.

I believe that the two top clans dying (unofficially, of course) can be quite a good thing. This will give us a chance to see some new clans face off for the top spot. To see NiP take on X3 again (even though it's unlikely they'd both make it a second time) would be redundant and uninteresting. Out with the old, in with the new. Just so long as the new isn't Canadian. Oh crap, did I say that outloud?
