NiP player losses

tso = at least top 5 this year. They placed in top 10 last year, and they weren't nearly as good as they are right now - I call 2002 the year of tso.

Gee, now I wonder why anyone would want to move on from Counter-Strike............. Hmmmmmmmmmm........... (okay, I won't start that argument again........) I'm no prophet or anything, but I don't see to many 'good things' for the future of CS... An aging graphics engine, and slow boring gameplay just make the game less and less fun to play... Valve has been pretty adamant about standing out on top in the MP field.. we'll see what they do to retain their title.

Bort has a point, considering SK.sca plays the same game as NiP, Counter-Strike.

=( This is so f*cking boring... I'm currently at the biggest LAN in Sweden, "Dreamhack", and NiP is here playing in the tournament. NiP is (was?) my favorite cs-team, probably 'cause it's Swedish so this is bad news for me (and many other's I think, NiP has many devoted fans out there).

Sad, NiP was a solid powerhouse for a long time in the CS scene, they proved they were the best several times.



Ofcourse SK.sca will get a huge boost by Potti, Heaton and XeqtR joining them but the former NiP team with Scream and Dracula was in my opinion a much stronger force.



Now i would bet my money on 3D in a matchup against SK.sca atleast until they have gotten their stuff together, and if they dont i wouldnt be surprised to see the former nip stars moving on to some new improved clan or doing something other drastic thing...



( btw Scream and Dracula was also asked to join up with SK.sca but decided to wait and see )

Sad about NiP, but they've been falling apart ever since the CPL WC. Kind of sad, actually.



I don't see how this hurts or helps CS as a sport. It creates drama; imagine vess playing against his old friend heaton or p0tti. Drama isn't automatically a bad thing.



My money was on ND before this change. SK.sca certainly has a chance now.

No it's not automatically bad, but I'd say that in order to have CS gain more respect as a "sport," or a professional activity it needs more stability from clans, who constitute the main professional player organizations. You don't see pro baseball teams constantly splitting up and reforming or loosing players at the drop of a hat.

I put my $$ on draft league for the future of competitive CS (and on-line gaming for that matter). This type of drama appeals to some people, but I could live without it.



A few months ago, who were the top-bets for CPL:WC? The teams with either ksharp, vesslan, or heaton... After the NiP crisis? Still the teams with ksharp, vesslan, or heaton, just different clan names. Big surprise?



BTW, this is why I'm 100% a TSO backer: dedication and awesome teamwork/strats > 'famous' players.
