NextWish 14.0 Binds Fix

Can't get NextWish's CS Binds to work? Fear not, here's a fix compiled from the oodles of mails we received about it:

If you wish to use your binds, open up valve.rc in your /cstrike folder (Note: Notepad or any other text-editing software will do). Remove the /NextWish/ folder from the line*, and move NWcs1.cfg and NWcs2.cfg to your /cstrike folder. This way, the aliases will still work, because they are now in your /cstrike folder.



*exec Nextwish\NWCS1.cfg becomes exec NWCS1.cfg

The reason for this happening is Valve's lockdown on any files being executed from the console. Props to Valve for this move and for everyone that mailed us this fix.

my question is, if they're keeping us from execing files from the console then what about my server configs?



i usually like to have a config file that does everything via rcon and just type exec rcon_cal.cfg ... now i gotta keep it on the server and do rcon exec cal.cfg .... bah, bad valve!

I don't understand why this is so good. I see what it does. But what advantage/disadvantage does that give us (the player/the cheat detector/the developer) and them (cheat writers)?

www.nextwish.org -- but honestly i suggest rze's script, not to be a suck up, but i dumped nexty's script for rze's (sorry nexty!!!) just cause it worked at the time, and i've just stuck to it.

Nextwish has a updated script for 1.5, for those not into writing your own or messing with files.
