Let me guess what you're up doing on Saturday nights....

Anyhow, I think its about time developers took notice of the problem of cheating, at this point Valve has already lost so much of its fanbase because of the attitude they had about it prior to 1.4, Punkbuster was mentioned in that article, what wasn't mentioned is that the developers of PB stopped supporting HL based games because Valve didn't care to give them any support at all.

In anycase, I think if someone wanted a fair model of a company that polices its games like a hawk, take a look at blizzard and battle.net. While CS has patches every year, battle.net patches every month. I know there are still various exploits in the two most popular battle.net games, starcraft and diablo 2, but battle.net has gone a long way to not only remove exploits in the past (such as duplicate items, hacked items, etc etc) but continues to this day, AND the online service is free.

Cheaters have always been a problem, and its gotten so out of hand they don't even feel the need to hide anymore, Clans like myg0t and japs do it and actually think they are better than cs players that don't. In my opinion thats just messed up.

there are many cheats available atm and dont think that OGC isnt among them. theres a fix for OGC which replaces the exe files and it works again hope valve has someything big planned for 1.5 .

Whether the companies are dissillusioning themselves has yet to be seen, but it is my opinion that for the basic fact that compainies are taking notice of how cheaters ruin games is enough to celebrate. I hope that they use the knowledge well and focus on stoping cheating and exploiting, because if I pay $15 bucks a month I want to have something I can enjoy. Not something I play for ten minutes before someone kills me unfairly and loots my body while I sit on the ground saying WTF three thousand times. Fuck hackers, Anti-Cheats forever.

Actually I think that OGC uses the same .exe file every version.. it's the .dll file that changes. The executable is used to inject the .dll into the game.

In multi-player action games such as "Quake III" and "Half-Life," hackers will try to tap into the servers running online games to execute cheats that let them see through walls or automatically aim weapons.
Dear lord.. Children, get some clothes and a sleeping bag, we're going away for a while!

Im glad that the Game developers now have to ACT on the cheaters since they are not going to sell games if they can be hacked!

What would you pay a month for a 100% cheat free CS server?

Lets just for a moment asume that one could be made, I think personaly I would be happy to pay $5 for a cheat free envoiment and to support/develop the game I love.

How much would you pay (because lets face it they don't give a shit about anything else) ?

Hackers, Cheaters, Losers.. Whatever you want to call them. They will always find a way to break the code and do what they want. Even if we have to pay to play. We will all still get hacked. And then we are all paying just to get hacked again. That is so LAME!! Nothing is bulletproof, hackers will do what they want when they want. How about writing a code in the game that as soon as it detects a cheat it will corrupt there copy of CS and make it unplayable. Yes they can format and reload.. But until they find out how to break the code we can all enjoy at least one week of honest game play.
