CS level of the week @ PHL

Planet Half-Life posted another map in their Counter-Strike level of the week section. This weeks best is de_predator. Heres a clip:

De_Predator is a pretty old map now, and was the first time I'd ever heard of from a mapper who is now pretty well known. Its author, 3d_Mike, has since gone on to create numerous other successful maps, including the official CS map De_Survivor.



All in all, De_Predator is a good map; fun to play and it looks great. It is far from perfect, however, and the faults and frustrations within are what kept it from becoming more popular.

Jungle maps do not work with the HL engine.

FireArms, another HL mod have many nice and playable jungle/forest maps.

I'll try to keep myself 'alive' here for many many weeks, months :) I know it will be hard, but I have a lot of time for this :)

Yeah firearms does have lots of really nice outside maps.

Too bad the rest of FireArms doesn't lend itself to the theme of being playable.



3 on 3 with de_predator was the most (and probably the only) fun i ever had with CS in 1.1-1.3. Even with those god damned pits.

I started to strongly dislike rottencrotch, so he just stopped coming here.

Predator was the map I was playing 1v1 vs. a server admin and he banned me by the time I had gone 7-0 vs. him. :-(.



Seriously, predator is a fun, fun, map. (took me soooo long to figure out that it was the trap wires that were causing me so much damage . . .).

Is that your way of saying you revoked access? I don't remember rottencrotch. Rottencrotch is probably alot like me except for the first part:

people hate me at first

then they decide to give me a chance and get to know me because they figure everyone has their good points

then they KNOW I'm a horrible human being.

I took his access away after he started to make the kind of posts that he should have been deleting.



There's bad blood between us so I don't want to talk about it unless he's here to defend himself.
