      Die, reality TV, DIE!! MWAHAHAH!!

It's cool how in Australia we get all these amazingly cool reality TV shows too! Even better -- its all got an American flavour and we get them ten months later! Woohoo!

Honestly, a "reality" that is designed to bring out the worst qualities in people for national viewing is a joke. Big Brother/Weakest Link/The Mole can role over and die, then maybe we'll see some more quality productions back on the box...

I'd just like to point out that while the US (and other countries) have hundreds of channels, we in the UK have 4.5 (four point five). However, the quality is compact into this - having seen US TV, I can safely say that the UK is far far far better.

Ok, we've had our dumb exports, like The Weakest Link, and Millionnaire, but hey, it's good. BBC News is excellent. Spooks is the UK equivelent of 24. Big Brother is a whole lot better, a lot less tacky, and far more... British than the US equivelant.

We like it. I'm a Brit, I like TV made by Brits for Brits. Like BB3.

But I also think Futurama and 24 rock. But only them.

You stayed up during the night to watch BB3?! I thought only people with no lives did that (or, alternatively, people with nigh-jobs and E4 on digital...)

you fail to remeber that the bbc is not a good thing. in what sense is government controlled news and programming a positive thing?

we are barely holding out in the u.s. as independant news programming is harder to find, but at least we're not practically communist like the brits.

and i mean that with much love.

actually although i'm irish i think the BBC is a great service. It usually has a sensible and well thought out opinion on things. It's far more level headed and fair than independant stations who are whores to corporate mind control wankers like Murdoch and co. So there.

Not much to do with CS or BB but hey

I'm still waiting for the US governments to crack and demand that all broadcasts end with some, "America is great" or "Long live America" type crap.

Because, of course, America is the centre of the Universe. Didn't you know?

Erm, that's not really how it works - as an example, the BBC's portrayal of the Falklands War resulted in a great deal of controversy because the government of the time described it as unpatriotic.

Guidelines are put in place by the government, but the BBC is not a propaganda machine - it has it's own free will.
