i was in a america and canada and i was disapointed with the amount of ads! it truly was shit! lol however the vast amount of channels were amazing! it was good when old (UK) cable used to broadcast spanish and german channels because i used to watch bullfighting on spanish and HARDCORE porn on the German it trully was an amazing night in unfortunatly ! Cable Tel went down the drain and soon to be NTL are to follow LONG live SKY tm due to its monopoly it will never die lol

I seem to remember - after being in the US to visit Gearbox - a standard TV affair went like this:

First off, it was Star Trek (ugh), I was watching this with Chris Auty, who most people know as n@rby. I can't say I'm a huge fan of Star Trek - I use it to the extent that I call people 'Trekkies' as an insult.

So, the layout of the program was as follows:

          - ads

          - cold opening (eeewww)

          - title sequence

          - ads

          - about 5mins of Star Trek (urgh)

          - ads

          - about 5mins of Star Trek (argh!)

          - ads

I stopped there - in order to stop throwing myself in front of a large HGV - but already I had worked out the pattern in my head (yes, I was THAT bored already, after barely 15mins of watching this nerdy show).

In the UK, it's not like that.

ITV and Ch4, and Ch5 (I stick to the ad-less BBC though) usually have adverts every 15/20 mins, lasting 3 mins on average. There is always 12 or so minutes of TV before an ad at the least.

But of course, normal people like me (not the working class scum who ITV, ch4 and ch5 cater for) watch the elegant BBC. It's good stuff - no ads, and decent honest programming. Even anti-government stuff is shown, something I haven't recently seen on ITV (but then, I don't watch ITV). Impressive for a company that is run by a man who is a member of the Labour Party (or a contributor, or something).

I even pay the TV license fee - just over £100 (~$175) a year. It's worth it for the BBC alone.

Spooks is terrible - I watched that once, thinking it would be mega cool and wierd, but it was slow and predictable. Even when you thought "It's getting going" it lasts 20 seconds before they catch the bad guy. I mean you didnt even see the bloody explosion. JAMES BOND WOULD BE DISGUSTED!

P.S. - James Bond is UKs greatest export!

oh and I watched BB again, and it wasnt as bad! the sex game was wierd

It's great! I'm not going to argue - it doesn't appeal to everyone's tastes. But it appeals to mine, and it has gained reasonable audiences and acclaim. Oh, and it also had Lisa Faulkner in it. Shame she had her face fried... (that was really nasty)

LoL, that's harsh mr Johnston, I'm sure even HM the Queen might be caught watching those channels occasionally.

I agree with you on the BBC they produce some great stuff, but you've missed out on lot if you don't get the other channels. Black Books, The Book Group and Daisy Daisy are some that come to mind from channel4 and I'm not ashamed to say I like some of the recent US programs, Jackass, Frasier and Cheers being favourites. Oh yeh, and film-wise the Rocky series, The Net, The Terminator and Johnny Mnemonic have been shown.

I don't like soaps or reality tv though, probably because I don't follow them from the start, and I hate ludicrous chat shows.

Adverts... they're getting much worse now, especially on sky. An episode of Star Trek (sorry, yes I watch it) follows the same sort of ad pattern you quoted.

hmm, maybe I should change my nick to square eyes...

I was waiting for someone to make these CS 1.6 compatable. WOo! = )

Im using Intel extreme onboard graphics, and these DO help a little to keep a higher FPS amount. I dont really care about the low detal... Just about every player model of mine is low detail, I have gl_playermip 2 on. ; ).x

So if you have a worse pc than I do, give these a try.

great pack! honestly, with my 32mb vid card that can only give me 5-15fps, this pack itself allows me to get 15-20fps in direct 3d and 20-50fps in opengl and also lowers my choke and loss! wouldn't leave home without it! The only problem is that in the dark, these models can be harder to see. O well, i have min models on nyway so all is well! make more of these for weapons and i will kiss you feet! (honestly, i need every frame i can get!)

                    good job!

Just discovered these skins, and they're awesome! I have a AMD Athlon 2500+ with a Radeon 9200. It makes my fps is usually around 98-100, and now I get 99-100. LOL! I know I don't need them but I couldn't resist that 1 extra frame and these sexy looking skins. Haha
