We don't mean to diss girls when they play CS , its the fact that they are different from boys and like different stuff , sure there is a couple of girls that play cs , but a girls main interest is not video games , i do not diss girls on cs or any game , infact i try to help them out and back them up , cause i think its great that girls are a part of the CS CommunityComment

interesting article for me to read, as i myself am a girl cs player. a lot of stuff written in that article is true, and has happened to me at one time or another (and i've heard some funny pickup lines in my time but you can't beat the ones i've heard from CS - e.g. crouching down to stealthily go around a corner with male teammate behind me, over the voice comms i hear from him "nice view from here, Prairie". oh ho ho ho) oh well, i just laugh at them... then pop a couple at their heads when they're not looking :pComment

The point of the article wasn't my personal skill, however, I just think that it was rather essential for the "girl" in question to be kicking butts and taking names to provoke the kind of responses from people that I saw. People still hit on the girls who play and do mediocre, but I was trying to focus more on the aspect of guys wanting to think of themselves as a superior gender.

As a female counter-strike player, I've experienced a lot of the same stuff from in this article. People make all sorts of sexual jokes, and seem to take it personally if I kill them. I think maybe my biggest mistake was putting a picture of myself as my spray, that probably wasn't the best idea. My biggest problem though, seems to be people always saying stuff like "girls can't play games, it's probably just some gay guy". I play counter-strike for the same reason as all the guys do; to have fun. Then again the way my microphone makes me sound, there's probably good reason why they think I'm a guy.
I wish I could fix that.
And counter-strike needs to come with female models. Damned male mod makers. :PComment

my girlfriend plays cs and although she isnt good she enjoys it and totally loves the voice comms
my clan is almost famous as we sing all the time when playing cs and she comes on and joins in everyone on the server (about 1500 ppl a week) love her and everyone is nice to her helps her along etc.
one thing did disturb me

she was playing on a jolt server one evening with a couple of my other clan members and she was happily talking along with them when an admin joined the server on her team.
she was asking for backup when the admin said "sal are you female" sal said yeah im not very good at cs but i enjoy it his reply was "hahaha this is a blokes game not for girls" he promptly proceeded to kick and ban her from the public server due to his sexist attitudes she has also been banned from ALL jolt.co.uk public servers.
on another note though another friends clan his sister plays and she`s the best member in their clan when we played a friendly against them she was the only person on their team to get kills against us for 12 rounds
i think females has as much right to play the game as males and shouldnt be treated sepperatly i know some very good female players and i`d have them in my clan anytime.
also the point about female models in cs my girlfriend says exactly the same thing about it she wants a female modelComment

I couldn't agree with this article more. I know that whenever a girl joins our server (whether they're really a girl or not) guys no matter from my clan or any pubbing, will hit on her. I mean I have no problem with girls playing the game, I think it's great. But it's sick how people hit on people you haven't even seen or know. For awhile there were these 2 girls that constantly pubbed in our server. They were really good, and because they were girls they were being accused of being hackers all the time. I don't think its fair that they're treated the way they are. And if any girls read this, continue playing they way you do. Counter-Strike is NOT a guys sport.
I'll say say out openly that there ARE girls better than me, I'm not ashamed to say it, there's nothing I feel wrong with it. There just good at a game, and I think that's good. Plus, I know A LOT of girls that are better at CS than A LOT of guys.Comment

yea but see the problem with female models in cs is, u get 12 year old that are male playing and running up to the model and just stand there looking at it.
but anyways, i think it would be a good idea to add a female model.Comment
