Those crazy folks at united admins recently announced that they'd recruited former cheater Joolz onto their anti-cheat team. As a result, an irc chat/interview was conducted. Here's a snippet:

Joolz: The UA-I are keeping close tabs on me, one wrong move and i'm dead... So that should allow you to trust me

I'm not sure if I buy it, but that's not my judgement call. Read the rest for yourself.

You know, I'm all for cheaters reforming (I host kuso's logoville, for example), but could this issue bit a bit more public?



I would quote Chris Rock, but I'd be racist. The point is "taking care of your kids" is normal, "not making cheats" is normal. Does he want a gold medal?



On the other hand, he's doing more than just stopping to make cheats, he's helping to make them not work at all. It's a tough call, but at this moment Joolz seems pretty noble.

Umm.... we (UnitedAdmins) don't write Valve's Anticheat. And as far as leaking info goes. There isn't really much to leak. Its not like the HLGuard's source code is to be held in the same standard as the Holy Grail. Any cheat writer knows what HLG does. They don't need the source to figure that out. And if they don't... they can pull apart the dll or goto the server and find out what is being done. Stop being so paranoid people.

The rest were mostly evasive half-answers, although the peanut gallery asking the questions didn't help any (kudos to the bithering retard who asked Q #13).



So, what was this interview supposed to prove again? That cheat makers have valid reasons for what they do? Failed miserably in that case.

What makes cheating so much more interesting than playing with real skill? If you ask me, cheating gets boring very quick. You're practically having the computer play for you.

well, I remember when I cheated for a while. Back in OGC5 or 6 I think. I used it because I was getting owned on a regular basis and wanted a little edge to even the playing field. All I did was turned the aimbot on with 30 degrees and for the chest so I still had to aim somewhat. It also showed me the baest places to aim. I am a whole lot better now and can be top 3 easlily. Anyway just thought I would share this in case someone out there cares

I think this is a good interview over all. It's not "professional" by any means but it shows that some good can come from the bad :)



Everyone is skeptical, just as I am, about all this but you all don't really have to be rude :)



Joolz obviously has enough problems with the like/dislike. I went through that(in a way) when I played Dark Forces 2. I was big into cheating and then abruptly stopped because I realized how much skill I really lacked. I then made a change for good and became a respectable player.

i don't care if he is reformed. he should not be a respected member of the counter strike community. why does he have to "reform" as an anti-cheater. can't he just reform into the realm of not cheating or not making cheats. i think he prolly made cheats for the same reason that he's now anti cheats: HE WANTS ATTENTION.
