aAa have beaten SK.sca to go through to the final against ND. It was a great match and needed 4 overtimes to be settled (25-23).

ND won after beating aAa at nuke with 13-7, aAa was never close in my opinion.

Change is part of what makes CS what it is.

No, change is what used to make CS what it was. It's not a mod anymore. It's a retailed game. People buy the product because they are pleased with the current state of the product.
People buy a product because it does one of 3 things.

Helps them in one way or another by being usefull (vacuum cleaner).

              Entertains them (movie tickets).

Or a little of both (dildo).

CS, like any other game is entertaining for about a month or two. So what the hell is going to keep people playing? The constant changes thats what.

I purchased JK2, a fine example of a well made game, with some nice multiplayer gameplay. But guess what? I'm already bored with it. Been there done that. With CS it would probably be the same way, except it is just a dynamic game, and there is always something to look forward to. If CS was exactly as it was at 1.0 (the retail version) I would probably have quit some time ago. As would alot of people.

This almost 3 year old game is still the #1 multiplayer game in the world. That right there should tell you something. What games where you playing 3 years ago that you are still playing religiously today?

If CS stopped at the beloved beta 5.2, and gooseman/cliffe said "hmmm, this works our work here is done, cya!" Do you think it would to this day have the crowd it still has now? Not a chance in hell.

If you absolutely hate, which is quite apparent, changes in a game. Then you are free to go play a game that for sure will not change. And you can slowly watch there community die down, as the CS community is granted new content and changes in the next update to keep us happy.

              CS 1.5 please.

Now to my little cynical remarks. First off, let's not argue 1.3 vs 1.4. Reading the posts of GonePostal, he seems to believe that after CS went retail, nothing should be allowed to change, since it's not giving people what they originally payed for, right? Therefore, let's kick the discussion back to what it really is (if you want to use that line of reasoning), version 1.0 vs version 1.4 of CS.

First off, I think this is a great idea. I really enjoyed the misplaced hitboxes in various situations that CS 1.0 gave me. Sure, when I was aiming correctly I missed sometimes, but hey... half the time I was aiming poorly I got lucky hits anyway! How cool is that?

I also liked the old style score board. This whole new "clean" layout just doesn't compare to the old classic boxy look that I had come to love in CS. It used to be so mysterious what server you were on if you forgot... now people can just press TAB and have it listed at the top, ruining the suspense.

And what about the awp? With good ol' 1.0, I was able to quickly aim for an opponents small toe and kill him instantly. It's realistic! He would have bled to death... eventually... in real life, so that's good! Now sometimes people can survive a really poorly aimed AWP shot. How dumb is that!

And then there is the classic speed cheat. My days of CS used to be a fantastic repetition of round after round of attempting to kill speed cheaters, then seeing if there was anyone else left on my team to complete the objective. Now with 1.4 and all the anti-cheat technology, there's no way to massively unbalance the game by using simple programs. Everyone you fight against has to spend time learning things like how to aim, how to listen, and other boring parts of the game that greatly reduce your ability to rack up insane kill:death ratios. Sheesh I hate this 1.4 stuff...

Then, like MikeJ said, there's no longer the fun of watching a good classic "crack whore on a pogo stick" player work his magic on the other team. No... now we have to just run, walk, crouch, and very rarely jump... like a real CT team. How utterly stupid. I came to CS thinking I was Neo... why can't I jump like him anymore?

By far the worst of them all, though, I think voice com was a terrible addition to CS. I mean, before, you had to type out messages or use radio commands. This gave the attacking team a nice balance against the defending team, because instead of just saying "we're under attack at B site" in voice com in a half second, instead they had to type it out, risking the possibility of getting shot while doing so. But along came newer versions which removed this great strategic element in CS. Change is obviously bad.

And yes, if you were unable to notice the sarcasm in those paragraphs about 1.0 being better... you're either not an english-speaker, or really, really dumb. :) Point is, just because something retailed in one form doesn't mean it doesn't have any room for improvement. CS evolved constantly before going retail, and has continued to do so. Like it or not, it's well known. Try it out... adjust a bit... you may find it's not as bad as you want it to seem.
Yet again, we see another dumbass that worked the system and got through school without learning to read. These are mostly bug fixes, tweaks, and anti cheats. These are not major gameplay changes. If you buy a game, and you bought that game because in it's current state of gameplay it entertains you, but later, another version comes out and it changes the gameplay and now it doesn't entertain you anymore, how would you feel? You payed for that current state of gameplay, but now it's changed and you can't get your money back. Don't you feel a little mad?

Yes it does. Just not as big as it used to be. By your post, you have nothing to contribute to the argument why these changes are good.

How does the jumping slow-down even come CLOSE to helping a rusher? Please don't excuse your living-in-the-past mistake with some made up argument.

I don't have to defend why the changes are good, the CS team took that prerogative. You have to explain why the changes are so bad that they merit a complete reversion. It's your burden, not mine. I've already won.
You can still rarely find places to jump that will give you short cuts. Like if you jump from a high ledge, high enough not to get a jump penalty, that helps in rushing.

I don't see cliffe making official statements how these changes are so good for gameplay that apply to what I said above. Again, don't tell me it says in the change log jump penalty stops bunnyhopping because I said before there are many other better ways to accomplish the same thing etc... I already have explained why these changes are bad, now it's your turn to tell me why they are good. Or can you? Now it's your burden. I'm winning nut licker.

I would feel stupid for buying a game that has been changing since beta 1, and expecting it to magicly stop changing at 1.0.

You never jumped over any obstacles? Funny, you must be playing on a flat field. And guess what you did, but in CS you can't, dive. So instead of diving and proning in CS, you jump and crouch.

ok, have you ever paintballed? they're known as "hills" and "trees". if you've ever been outside, you would know what they are. when you pantball, you use them for "cover".

...i've yet to see anyone jump over trees, or any other obstacles while playing paintball you ass.
