    'Is' implies current.
Yes it does. Just not as big as it used to be. By your post, you have nothing to contribute to the argument why these changes are good.

They are good changes because you will not in real-life see some counter terrorism unit bouncing around like a crack whore on a pogo stick while firing a fully automatic rifle and charging straight into enemy territory like idiots.

GonePostal, I play CS alot. I run a 20 player server, and I am in a CAL-O clan. No, CAL-O is not big shot CPL material, but we know what we are going and we do a pretty good job. So I think I can safely say that the changes in 1.4 have NOT ruined league play at all. Yes, we have to get use to the changes, as does everyone else. Change is part of what makes CS what it is. Our clan matches are just a balanced as they where in 1.3. The strats I am seeing are pretty much the same, there wasn't alot of bhopping in matches before anywhays. The walk speed is not that bad, and it certainly does not give the defending team any more of an advantage then they already have.

Besides, you play both sides in a match, so what difference does it make anywhays. CS 1.4 is great stuff, and I am pleased in the direction CS is heading, as I always have been.

              Please go play another game.

Reduce height of jump by X amount every Y jumps but keep momentum.

Reduce accuracy by X amount so it's impossible to kill anyone in mid air.

When you are shot, you are briefly unable to jump just like you are unable to run.

                Just a few to name.

No, change is what used to make CS what it was. It's not a mod anymore. It's a retailed game. People buy the product because they are pleased with the current state of the product.

How does the jumping slow-down even come CLOSE to helping a rusher? Please don't excuse your living-in-the-past mistake with some made up argument.

I don't have to defend why the changes are good, the CS team took that prerogative. You have to explain why the changes are so bad that they merit a complete reversion. It's your burden, not mine. I've already won.

././././././ Yo! What up CS dawgs? it's me again, here with some crazy vibe to get yo shiznit cannons fired.

As an outsider to this diseased little CSN community I gotta say that among the 2 or 3 fans of this site, a cult community is has rizen (no pun). Rze and his creativity starved crew have somewhat gained a crazy following that is the cause of this phenothailine...um, phenomenon. This leads to strange directions as can be attested to by this quote:

How did this come up in the first place??? I say, just give 'em ur address RZE and they'll leave u alone (online). Forget jumping restrictions, this is a bigger issue. BTW, re: CSN, tight knit community: I want in.

LOL! Oh man, hehe, nice to see in a world where all too often everyone gets all in a hissy-fit over arguing about the merits of CS changes, there's a few people left out there with a sense of humor about the whole topic.

Now to my little cynical remarks. First off, let's not argue 1.3 vs 1.4. Reading the posts of GonePostal, he seems to believe that after CS went retail, nothing should be allowed to change, since it's not giving people what they originally payed for, right? Therefore, let's kick the discussion back to what it really is (if you want to use that line of reasoning), version 1.0 vs version 1.4 of CS.

First off, I think this is a great idea. I really enjoyed the misplaced hitboxes in various situations that CS 1.0 gave me. Sure, when I was aiming correctly I missed sometimes, but hey... half the time I was aiming poorly I got lucky hits anyway! How cool is that?

I also liked the old style score board. This whole new "clean" layout just doesn't compare to the old classic boxy look that I had come to love in CS. It used to be so mysterious what server you were on if you forgot... now people can just press TAB and have it listed at the top, ruining the suspense.

And what about the awp? With good ol' 1.0, I was able to quickly aim for an opponents small toe and kill him instantly. It's realistic! He would have bled to death... eventually... in real life, so that's good! Now sometimes people can survive a really poorly aimed AWP shot. How dumb is that!

And then there is the classic speed cheat. My days of CS used to be a fantastic repetition of round after round of attempting to kill speed cheaters, then seeing if there was anyone else left on my team to complete the objective. Now with 1.4 and all the anti-cheat technology, there's no way to massively unbalance the game by using simple programs. Everyone you fight against has to spend time learning things like how to aim, how to listen, and other boring parts of the game that greatly reduce your ability to rack up insane kill:death ratios. Sheesh I hate this 1.4 stuff...

Then, like MikeJ said, there's no longer the fun of watching a good classic "crack whore on a pogo stick" player work his magic on the other team. No... now we have to just run, walk, crouch, and very rarely jump... like a real CT team. How utterly stupid. I came to CS thinking I was Neo... why can't I jump like him anymore?

By far the worst of them all, though, I think voice com was a terrible addition to CS. I mean, before, you had to type out messages or use radio commands. This gave the attacking team a nice balance against the defending team, because instead of just saying "we're under attack at B site" in voice com in a half second, instead they had to type it out, risking the possibility of getting shot while doing so. But along came newer versions which removed this great strategic element in CS. Change is obviously bad.

And yes, if you were unable to notice the sarcasm in those paragraphs about 1.0 being better... you're either not an english-speaker, or really, really dumb. :) Point is, just because something retailed in one form doesn't mean it doesn't have any room for improvement. CS evolved constantly before going retail, and has continued to do so. Like it or not, it's well known. Try it out... adjust a bit... you may find it's not as bad as you want it to seem.

By the way, sorry to write such freaking long posts (now watch me violate protocol yet again). I'm used to writing articles, not posting on the forums. I guess it kind of shows, as this was feeling somewhat short as I was writing it.

Rizzuh, I'm amazed you continue to reply to some people. There comes a point where the only thing left to do is mock people, because they're not going to accept what you say, no matter what. Might as well enjoy it after that point, heh. And as always, keep up the good work on the site. Well, so long as there's no more references to soda and CS in the same sentence. :)

Another thing I wanted to reply to:

I so totally know what you mean... heh. It's amazing how I can know such intelligent people in real life, yet always be surprised by how dumb/obnoxious/whiney a few people on the net can be. Ah well, just imagine that for every loud annoying person on the net, there's a lot more out there just reading and laughing instead of posting their latest gripe constantly.

And to that crazy German guy, ViolentJ, I've got to say it's quite sad, but your english skills are a lot better than half the Americans I know, though some subtle comments of sarcasm and humorous insult seem a little lost on you. And no, not all Americans are completely uninformed about the things going on in Europe, though I'll admit that at least I personally tend to focus more on things here in America, and a fair amount of Americans really are dumb Americans, heh. As long as CS-Nation continues to point me the right direction for finding my CS news goodness, I'm gonna stay happy, though. :)

Alright, time for me to sleep. G'night/good morning all who are unlucky enough to stumble across my ramblings... hehe.
