    CPL Bits

The Cyberathlete Professional League has sent a few press releases to me. I would be sick and twisted to not post them.

ESPN's CPL segment will be airing this week. The show was scheduled to air Thursday, May 16 at 7PM Eastern on ESPN, but due to the addition of a Thursday NHL Playoff game, Outside the Lines: Simulating Sports: The Video Game Craze is now scheduled for Friday at 7:30PM Eastern. It's an hour long program. To do time conversion, subtract an hour for each timezone to the West (there are four timezones in the continental US). Actually, just forget it. There is no way that you will be able to use things like "addition" to find the show time; just roll around in your own failure.

Belkin announced that it will hold a CPL Nostromo Exhibition Tournament at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, CA (May 22–24, 2002). The tournament will consist of two days of competition and will be held at the Belkin booth. For more info, including the booth number and location, please go to this internet address.

"Gamers: A Documentary", a feature-length film on competitive computer gaming, will make its world premiere on Friday, August 1 at the Summer 2003 Cyberathlete Professional League Championships. The film, which focuses on the Counter-Strike competitive community, will screen at 11 pm for attendees of the event, and will be available for purchase online in DVD format at The Gaming Project afterwords.

As seen here, the CPL is having a competition for this Summer's CPL Internet site. The voting is now taking place here. The voting stops the 21st at 12:01 CPL Forum time.

The Cyberathlete Professional League has recently released a whole bevy of new information regarding their upcoming Cyberathlete® Extreme World Championships, taking place July 28 to August 1, 2004.
        • the samsung syncmaster 19" 955df-t/t flat-screen monitors will be utilized for all 5 tournaments. in addition nvidia will be providing over 200 lockers (locks not included) for participants as a first come, first serve basis.

        • furthermore, the new floorplan has been released, where you may check up on it here. it should be noted the event is hosted on over 106,000 square feet of space, so space should definitely not be a concern.

        • the official map rotation list has also been released as well, so do check that out also.
Things are looking good for yet another successful and entertaining CPL tournament.
