• opening the xbox (paperback) - i'm not the biggest fan of the xbox, but i love geoff keighley and geoff keighley loves this book! i've already ordered it. even if you don't like the xbox, you might find this book interesting. i loved the final hours of diakatana just as much as the final hours of msg2. salon.com has posted an excerpt from the book.
  
  
  
  
• counter-strike: condition zero - do you really need me to rant on and on about counter-strike: condition zero? i thought not. i've pre-ordered it already.
  
  
  
  
• soldier of fortune 2: double helix - this game, from the developers of the first sof, looks to be really cool. great graphics, plenty of gore, and random multiplayer maps. yep, i have a pre-order for this one too.
  
  
  
  
• unreal tournament 2003 - unreal tournament's sequel sports much better graphics a few new gameplay modes. i'm looking forward to the football one. no pre-order yet, because the demo is coming soon and i'll have to see it first.
