i think the cs team should look into custom maps, ok i can understand they cant look at evrey1 out there

but they could check some and take the BEST ones



not like they did with SHITVIVOR

im sure some would be great hits for cs

Custom maps are rarely popular in CS, likely due to the CS team's official frown on them, but maybe they'll catch on sooner than later.

I disagree completely. I think custom maps are quite popular and are one of the things that has kept long time players still interested. If I had to play the same 12 or so maps constantly that the CS team maintains as official maps, I would seriously think about giving up this game (as it is, I refuse to play militia ever again). As a server admin, I am constantly hearing requests for custom maps...



btw, I think I saw it on www.gametiger.net, fy_iceworld is the third most played map in CS.

Yeah right. The order is as follows:

» de_dust

» de_dust2

» de_aztec

A custom map isn't even in the top 5 or 6, to my knowledge. The CS team has done a great job scouting out new maps, besides torn, thus far.



edit: I just checked, fy_iceworld is ranked 13th. Everything before is an official map.

Maybe it's just me... but I usually enjoy custom maps. The thing I think that kills them in the long run is the fact that they have to be downloaded. People are incredibly lazy, and unless you tell them the map is only like 200k, they'll leave the server and go play dust or aztec.
