The Promised LAN will feature an official CPL Qualifying Counter-Strike 5 v. 5 tournament, with a $500 grand prize and an auto-berth at the CPL summer championships in Dallas, TX.

The Promised LAN will be taking place over Memorial Day weekend, May24th-26th. They are giving away some cool door prizes and tournament winnings. I'm sorry for this being out of place but I wanted to vent my anger and I might not be motivated enough to do so later; this is the first place I found.

My biggest gripe with CS is not the graphics, not the cheaters, not the lag (I'm on 56K). My biggest gripe with CS is the idiot count.

There are so many _______ (insert your own word here...suggestions include "retards", "morons", and "appalingly stupid people") in Counter-Strike that it hampers my fun severely.

Just now, I was playing. I was doing pretty decent (2:1 kill ratio) when someone commented "i hate map this gay fucking map.i fuckin own on dust2." (we were playin cs_assault).

"Well," I said, "why don't you go play dust2 then? Play the map you like."

Here's what he said (I swear to God): "stfu fagit".

This was followed by about 5 or 6 "lol"s from various people. Then the same guy who called me a "fagit" used the admin_vote kick command and it passed for some reason.

So I was kicked from the server and here I am. Does anyone know of any programs or some trick to stop text messaging from appearing, because if I get called a "fag" "fagit" "faggit" "fagget" "fagot" or any other derivetive of the word "faggot", I might have a nervous breakdown...
