Look at all the game that have come and gone since CS. Some of them where really good, but they just die out. Every release with CS is something new, and although you may not like it at first...or ever, it is definately for the better. buddy, you couldnt have said it better, i just wish there was more people out there as dedicated to counter strike as you and I. i dont doubt that there are but not many have shown their faces and raised their voices, we are the ones that defend cs from the gay llamas that just want to be 134 and 3 in a public server, but cant cause of changes to better the game play.

hmmm............I don't mind the walking as much as the jumping. But I'm not too sure if this is a change for the better. Personally, i might uninstall 1.4 and get 1.3 back in... i might create a server (in new york) if anybody wants....given my patience and time with the installations. I'm kinda lazy :)

I'm not having too much trouble with the changes. I'll sometimes find my self jumping to get awaly from and AWPER and then i die but it's not to bab. But I've bad news. Those **** ***** **** cheaters are still here. There is hope though.... I'll tell u what it is.... praise the person @ csteam\valve\gearbox who thought this up... it's called First Person spectating (works best i think with the "chase map overview"). We had this guy who was getting alot of through wall kills. After following him in first person and using the map overview to figure out where he was shooting it was ovious he wasn't just shooting through walls but he was tracking (ie: following ppl's movements) through the wall. Unfortunalty the admin wasn't there.

But admins if u have players accuse someone of cheating just go into spectator mode or simply follow the acussed when u die and u can probably plainly see wheter the cheat or have 5killz.

Thats still difficult to judge think about 3D sound. I tend to look where I hear things like footsteps beyond the wall and so I imagine that some might think I'm tracking, which I suppose I am but it's legal. Obviously some people are wall hacking but it's almost always difficult to tell.

I just skimmed this page but I noticed someone made the point that some people like CS precisely Because it changes significantly every few releases.



I've thought about this before, because a few months back a lot of people were bored of CS, myself included - but having to relearn my playing style has made me play more frequently and I'm actually enjoying myself again for the first time in months, I haven't been accused of cheating ever since the release! Now it's time for my ps2 to gather dust again...

My walk technique used to be holding the walk key while pressing move foward. I didn't tweak any var to achieve better speed, everything was set as default although I sometime "silent jumped" to gain some momentum. In 1.4, walking feels more like crawling to me.



I was also of the opinion that jumping should be restricted prior to 1.4, but the slow down sticks out like a sore thumb. Some say that it doesn't make that much of a difference, but CS has been slowed down nonetheless and this decision to slow things down isn't a good one in my opinion.



Jumping isn't free anymore, each time you jump you increase your vunerability. The maps aren't designed with the slow jump in mind, and if you actually miss your jump you're even more exposed to getting shot from the back, unable to move. There are a lot of areas where you need to jump to get past a trivial obstacle like the walkways in de_train. I don't think anyone on the CS team has really thought about the CS community and the consequences of these changes. Did they think:"CS is too fast! Let's slow it down!" I don't think so, but it's what they've done.



I will admit that something needed to be done about jumping, but this just isn't the right answer. I have always supported change in CS, but this isn't change, it's a mistake.

The next poll should really be which jumpign and walking do you like better? 1.3 or 1.4. The last poll justs says do you like it. You can like both but still like 1.3 better.



Oh and on that other poll pre 1.4 does add up to 101 which again shows what smart people "work" aka sit on their ass all day here. 41% is not a majority. The majority did not want the change and after the change a majority doesn't like it. Hmm maybe they should FUCKING CHANGE IT. Those whores at valve just want money. Are the people in charge of CS.net going to pay to host a site without bitchs supporting there every move aka rizzuh. If rizzuh goes out and says 1.4 sucks the people in charge would not be happy. Now thats why rizzuh is just a biased bitch and nothing he says can be viewed as fact.

I think that they should change the walk back to the way it was speed wise, i dont mind making noises if i'm tapping the keys to walk. i like the idea they are trying to do with the jump, but i think they went about it the wrong way. If they made it so you can do like 3 jumps in lets say 2 seconds before you slow down, I bet the hatred for 1.4 would be atleast a little less, and the creators would still beable to achieve what they set out to do.



I'd also like to point out though, that no one ever likes the patches when they first come out. Most people dont like change, its a fact. Everyone now is crying "Change it back to 1.3!".. well i can remember when 1.3 came out.. people were like "OMG! This Sucks! Give us 1.1 back!" and then when 1.1 first came out it was like "OMG! This Sucks! Give us 1.0 back!" all the way back until about beta 5.2.



I do however commend valve on this patch( besides the walk issue.. and the poorly implemented Jump, imho). They took care of many little bugs that i have been saying for the past two year, man they really need to fix that :-D.

Irrelevant. Almost all polls that have a whole percentage point are inaccurate. All polls that have a decimal place are inaccurate (usually), but to a lesser degree.

Totally irrelevant. I have always been unbiased by third parties in my reporting and cliffe has no influence on this site. The only bias I have is my personal opinion.



The reason I don't say "CS 1.4 sucks" is because I am happy with it.



Why do you choose to attack me personally? What should be my recourse? Should I say that CS 1.4 sucks just because you think that?

Obviously the people who hate cs 1.4 would speak more openly and louder then those who like it. It works that way with almost everything in life, happy people have very few things to say. zimzap's comment on the poll just proves that point. In fact EVERYTHING Zim zap has been saying proves that point. Of course i speak openly supporting it because, well, idiots piss me off more then anything in the world I would quote what he said in particular but its a waste of my time.



Yet another example of zimzaps idiotcisims iss the belief that a 1% margin of error makes the poll inaccurate. 10668 doesn't divide by 100 evenly, nor does it divide by 41, 38, OR 22 (and of course 10688*0.41 doesn't equal a whole number nor do the other 2 numbers), and if you were to round the resulting percentages it would result in a about a 1.3% margin of error, which is exactly what cs-nation came up with. See proving how much of an you are makes me feel better about myself because now i know that i (hopefully) just proved the errors in your thinking in front of a hundred people. Not like anyone of this matters right? Its over the internet after all.
