Yea I can get used to 1.4 jumping but it is so much worse then 1.3. Its not even more realistic because you can jump at least 3 - 4 times without losing speed. Do we want real or do we want fun? If we want real CT wins every single time from air strikes at spawn. Sounds like fun

A lot of the leagues or their affiliates supply HLTV servers for matches that are considered of high importance. For example, CALeague supplies HLTV servers for their important matches, and their affiliate Domain of Games always post these HLTV ip's on their website at www.domainofgames.com the night of the matches. So if you are interested in watching the HLTV during important matches, drop by Domain of Games on match night and I am sure they will have HLTV ip's posted. Also, if you want to watch a certain teams match, just drop by their IRC channel and they usually have the HLTV ip's posted in their channel topic.

I HIGHLY recommend watching as much as HLTV as possible. It is an excellent utility, and you can learn so much from the way "professionals" play. I certainly spend as much time watching demo's and HLTV as I do playing the game.

I love how they claim this is for realism but we are still blowing up big wooden boxes. Version 1.4 isn't total shit and is still good for some fun. It makes me sad when I think of when I started playing with 6.1. things change though so I guess I will have to as well.

1.4 is the current version so i could care less if i like it or not its the only version being supported by valve now... yes there are some disappointing things about it but its very easy to get used too... only takes about a week... thats how it was for me in the beta... after i got used to changes i love.. jumping is fine but the walking even tho the quick walk/run was an exploit i think it needs to be in for more stealthy attacks... on a scale of 1-10 i give 1.4 an 8 1/2 while 1.3 gets a 7 ;D

Mmm I'm not sure I agree with this. For one thing, if you are running, you're still going to make a decent amout of noise, and that's even if you're in running shoes. As it is, CT's at least are weighed down by all their gear and most likely don't wear running shoes, and I imagine that T's don't wear running shoes either. I think it would be incredibly difficult to run silently or at least quietly, at least enough to protect your life reliably.



As for walking, perhaps I haven't noticed it but it seems to be at the same speed as in 1.3, and in my opinion more than adequate at this point. If you want to be silent there should be a cost, and your mobility seems to be a good one. I say don't change it, for realism and balance.



It should be mentioned, however, that the abilities of l337 krew are not to be underestimated and they may be sponsored by Nike or Adidas, therefore being equipped with the latest in running shoe technology.

I've watched HLTV about 6 times, back when it was first implemented. Pretty useless, even (especially) for "big matches". All it did was allow you to see firsthand what kind of kindergarten bullshit goes on without the benefit of being able to play. Basically Suck-o-Vision.

While that's not my intent, what is the problem with that? The poll is to represent what the CS community thinks. If you leave CS, you're no longer part of the community. When you leave America no pollsters are going to ask for your opinions on the president, even if you left because of him.



A lot of the people who dislike CS 1.4 seem to have this "THE MAN" mentality. "THE MAN" rigging polls. "THE MAN" is ignoring our petitions. "THE MAN" is ruining the game. "THE MAN" left my mom when I was five and doesn't pay child support.



I guess we should no longer have mailbags, comments, or polls at all. It would be unfair to those who are leaving the community!!!!!

Let me say a few things.

1.) I have been playing since beta 4. This is a very sad release. Close to 2 years of using jumping as a method of moving around has been completely erased as a normal thing for me. The game seems totally different. I do not bunny hop. In fact while shooting I crouch and stay in one spot. But, just this one setting has hampered my ability to enjoy playing. Is the CS team looking to make this less fun and more realistic? Obviously it's not realistic either because I know that I sure as hell dont slow to a crawl after jumping while running. And why dont they bring back the scope for the m4? =) It looks like I wont be playing CS much any more. Thanks cliffe for ruining a great game and stealing my 30 bucks I just laid down for a new copy of HL so I could play again after losing my old cd key =( And to all of you who enjoy this new part of the game, I say great that you can so easily adjust. But for me, 2 years of playing the same way and switching is like going to an entirely new game. I wait in anticipation of grand theft auto 3 for the pc to take up my time.
