The thing is is that depending on your OS mouse sensitivity and if you have mouse acceleration on or off, you can have a sensitivity of 2 on one copy of CS and 6.5 on another and it will both be the same speed. That's why I think this topic isn't that great. What would be better is if you like it fast or slow, acceleration on or off, optical or mouse, and the kind of mousepad you use.Comment

6 years of light office work, maybe. 4+ years of brutal abuse from gaming is impressive for any mouse, on any scale.
I mean, they're only mice. A bit of plastic and silicon. If I remember correctly the better mice [edit: by better, I mean all those made by Logitech, MS and co., but not the cheapo ones which all good computer stores stock as an 'own brand'] are built to last up to 6 years, if not longer. All my MS mice (I have 3 or 4 IntelliMice back home for various PCs and purposes) are going to make that age easily at their current rate.Comment

Well, thought that I would post my two-pennies worth
MOUSE: Razer Boomslang 2000
PAD: Razer 3M Mousing Surface - came with the mouse and is very very cool.
SETTINGS: I have found that I get better results if I DON'T use the Razer W2k driver under XP but actually go for the USB HID Compliant Mouse driver that XP Pro suggests you use instead.
I set my OS to a medium/high sensitivity. In game I have the sensitivity quite low as the default setting means that I just touch the mouse and I swivel 360. Takes a while to get used to, but with my DSL connection I can sometimes have a storming session without having to pick my mouse up like I used to i.e. not much wrist action *LOL*Comment

I haven't read all the comments but - doesn't it depend on ur windows sensitivity aswel?! my windows sensitivity is just igh tof centre - in cs 7 is my running sensitivity and 3 is my sniping.
I have friend who run win sens on full (akk way to right) - there cs sensitivity is 3. SortedComment

...I use a wheely mouse with a ball; I'd love to get one of those flashy optical mouse things but I just can't be bothered...too much effort...
...My mouse sensitivity is 7 or something and I still get headies (even in tha new CS where the USP is crap and n00bs think they r god coz they get 3 or 4 kills per round!)Comment
