See, ever since Quake, I've used a sensitivity of 7 (actually 6, but I took a giant leap last year and notched it up a load to 7).



Strangely, Q3A needs 2x the value I use for HL (that being 14 for the dumb 12-year olds who take time off school to play CS - f'ing idiots). Same for Q3A-based games...



And, until Thursday, I had always had a traditional mouse, but alas, I went into Staples, came out with a hole punch, some pens, treasury tags, and a Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse (forgot the stapler) (... err, and staples).



It's... nice. That's it. I've used some crappy mice in my time (Even had an optical mouse in the early 90's), and this mouse is great in comparison. Simple (why make a mouse with so many buttons you need two hands to use it?!), effective, cool (for a while) and relatively cheap (£25).



I might also add I have a DELL-branded Microsoft keyboard.



I'll add on top of that last addition that I didn't even bother looking at the non-MS keyboards and/or mice. MS do fantastic peripherals and have that 'something' that Logitech don't.



You may have guessed I stick to MS. Makes sense to me...

I have my sensitivity on about 7 and i use a wireless mouse its great it never gets snagged.

I use one of those 4-button logitech monsters that's 4 years old. At least.



MS' peripherals have that special something called "retarded design". Logitech's special something seems to be "continuing to work after 4 years of beatings and throwing at the wall".



The only downside really seems to be that my everglide is now a 50/50 composition of whatever everglide pads are made of and whatever the glide strips on my mouse are made of.

Hey, my last mouse (an MS IntelliMouse with a wheel'n'all) lasted a good 4 years, and even wasn't at the end of its life. I only bought a replacement due to impulse buying (oh, and my brothers needed a mouse, so I gave them my one). It was still working perfectly - it needed a clean occasionally, but all mice do (even optical ones).



I mean, they're only mice. A bit of plastic and silicon. If I remember correctly the better mice [edit: by better, I mean all those made by Logitech, MS and co., but not the cheapo ones which all good computer stores stock as an 'own brand'] are built to last up to 6 years, if not longer. All my MS mice (I have 3 or 4 IntelliMice back home for various PCs and purposes) are going to make that age easily at their current rate.

Guyz u can just say what sensitivity u use, it depends what mouse u got. 5 sensitivity here will b different in another PC.

And optical mice just ownz for the CS =].....
