they are not kidding about eliminating bunny hopping.. YOu jump...(like normal, distance height ect.) then YOU LAND.. you slow down as if it stuck on WALK for a sec..... I tried jumping again..SAME height

The height is lower for consecutive jumps actually.

...length about 2/3 of the 1st jump...still slower.

You can jump up in down in one place like normal...but just don't try to jump down a hall....don't expect to jump around someone knifeing either....

do expect to be KILLED many more times by AWP'ers. no way to escape...

Awp isn't as good for awp rushing. Awp is still unbalanced but it's not nearly as easy to rush the hallway as a CT and awp the T's(That's the main reason I still play 1.3 from time to time. It is so much fun to awp rush). Headshots are more common in CS so you can headshot them with BS or skill.

THAT IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST CHANGE IN CS1.4.

I suspect play will be SLOWER and more turned to getting into a battle and some 1 dying...there is no movement in battle anymore {vertically}. Awp is probably alot more dangerous now too.

You suspect it will be slower? You don't move as fast and footsteps are alot louder. Movement in battle vertically still does happen(shotgun's aim is still just as good while jumping).

I know you want to post your thoughts, but we don't really need another CS 1.4 impression considering it's been public for a while.

          I'm split on 1.4.

As an older gamer, I am sick and tired of Quake-style Bunnyhopping in a supposedly - and I use the word loosely because it is a game - Realistic combat game like CS.

However, I - just like everyone else who has been playing CS for a while - Am used to using jumping to my advantage to avoid being killed at close range or get somewhere faster (like when a bomb is planted).

But I think that is a small price to pay - adjusting your playing style to be more realistic - Since the hit boxes are tighter and the weapons have been tweaked more (the MP5 is THE gun to get now as it was in the early beats) AND if they really can deter cheaters (fat chance, I know, but hey...).

if AWPing becomes harder then im all 4 cs 1.4, but i say they shouldve just gotten rid of the thing

+ there will be less ppl bunny-hopping out of my bullet streams so more frags 4 me >:)

fuck steam. Downloading a game every time you want to play it ? Isn't that about the dumbest idea EVER ?

I'm not sure whether or not I like Steam...for one thing, yes it allows the downloading of small updates whenever Valve wants, instead of making them wait until every new big patch to release updates. I guess this could be a huge benefit in the anti-cheating war.

However, I for one enjoy just downloading a single file and being done with it all, and just starting up CS and playing as opposed to connecting to steam every time, etc.

Oh well, it'll be interesting to see what 1.4 will be like and what future versions of CS will bring. Might as well give it a chance.

Hey, I've been doing a lot of awping lately. Listen, jumping doesn't help against an awp. Prove it to yourself: load awp_map2 and get a bunch of PODbots. The jumpers are easy because you can follow them all the way through the air and right down to the ground. You just wait until they get in the X and pull the trigger.

The hard ones are the fast, unpredictable side-to-side movements that are hard as hell to track.

So, the jumping will not help awps. Also, at least half the awp-whores are also deagle-jumpy-fags, so it hurts them too.

So true. Especially that first part about jumpers.

What are you people talking about?

                            -Does it stop cheating?

-How long will it take to DL?

-Will it be cool and stylish?

                            LETS TALK ABOUT SOMETHING IMPORTANT:

Look at Steam's online broadband operating model. Compare it to ANY OTHER per use system. Notice something??? Valve/Steam can capture all of the consumer surplus in the market by implementing a two-part tariff system. Simply, they charge you almost all you'd be willing to pay to install it, and then charge you small per use fees to soak up the rest of your demand. And you people are worried about cheating? Try worrying about getting ripped off. Its coming soon... don't say I didn't warn you!

                            Fuck you, Valve!

This sucks, they should cancel it because the week after CZ comes out and nobody will even want 1.4

PS: CS 1.5 Rizzuh?? I dont think that one will even make it to the planning stages.
                              and...
                              Actua

Then you'd know that cs 1.5 is already in the planning stages, and that it will make cs and cscz compatible, and that it will implement steam, and that cz and 1.4 wont be out at the same time at all, and that people will have the option of playing either one- servers will either be cscz or cs:classic.

What ever did happen to de_comrade is it in 1.4 or not?

and... hey, stoooopid, relax. Tayler Sherman of valve said, "New games will eventually be sold online via Steam (as well as in stores on CD). The charge is not for Steam but for the game you are buying. If you've already bought a copy of one of the current games in the Beta, you will not be charged for it again."

Good point about the Pay 2 use thing on CS! I hope they don't do that!

Notice how the official CS website hasn't been updated since Jan 22, 2002!

If I were everyone here! I would not delete the installation files to

CS 1.3 or Half-Life 1108 or the retail version of CS! At least not without burning them to a CD!
