    Theropod-X I'view

The busty babes over at Battle-Fields smacked up an interview with Theropod-X, creator and curator of de_museum. Here's some sugar from it:
What did you use for reference when creating the map's distinctive look? Did you do the texturework yourself, if so how?

The map is sort of an amalgamation of several famous natural history museum designs, notably the American Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian, and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Incidentally, all of those borrow heavily from classical structures, including the Pantheon in Rome. I think it's funny when people say the rooms are too big: I scaled the big room to the size of the Pantheon and the T. rex hall is actually smaller than a similar room in the Smithsonian.
No word yet if de_museum is going to make it into 1.4 or another future release, but you can read the interview anyway.

Heck, never heard of it...maybe CSN should at some point review some user-created maps or a repository of them.

it says in the interview that the map was top-ranked in a user poll of a couple thousand, so I would venture to say that it's somewhat popular.

And it says on his site that there's been 50000 downloads.

It's hard to find good workers! Btw could you please resize your avatar to our new width and height standards? See the prefs page.

i tried the map..and it was mighty damn good! kinda big tho (still great)

so its easy to get lost if you dont know the place, kinda like in a real museum. hehe

It'd be cool to setup your own independent file system if gamespy (or whoever for that matter), were to approve, have basically the same system, the user waits to download, etc.

Of course the wait would be 1/2 as much, as the csnation files are probobly .00000000001% of fileplanet's files. May be an interesting idea to code.

                            I like cs_prospeedball

very good paintball style map, and really fast paced, although when there are many many players, it tends to get laggy.
