    Post PB

``Hey, Buster!'' 3DActionPlanet has taken a look at the PunkBuster aftermath. In it, CitizenC describes two alternatives to PB. Here is a tidbit that consists of about 90% of the article (it's short!):
Up until recently, a piece of software known as PunkBuster provided a solution -- Counter-Strike servers would run the PunkBuster server alongside their regular HLDS installation. When a player would want to connect to said server, they would have to run the PunkBuster client, which continuously scanned for known cheats. It was an excellent system.

Then tragedy struck: Even Balance, the company who created PunkBuster, announced that they would be discontinuing their support for Half-Life. Now what are we supposed to do? Give up on the most popular online game? Pfft, yeah right. In PunkBuster's absence, two pieces of software have stepped up to fill that void. Here is the skinny.
No mention of Cheating-Death. If you follow CS news at all, this article won't be much help.

I would have expected better from 3DAP. GameSpy is usually pretty good in the writing department. Not very informative or lengthy, but I guess if it helps some people.

Shouldn't this have been written a few months ago? Oh well, and I don't see how it helps anyone, if they have ever played CS before, they would have already known this.

Anyone want me to slap CitizenC around when I see him next?

This is the most poorly researched article he's written...
