DaveJs' next project

DaveJ, the creator of cobble, dust and dust2, has updated his site with some kind of riddle, see if you can work it out:

• something veterans at valve software may detest, love, or laugh at.
  
  
• something newbies and young players will have no interest in.
  
  
• something veterans should enjoy.
  
  
• something game developers should set aside some time for.
  
  
• something that provides inspiration, humour, and embarrassment.

I can't figure it out for the life of me.



Update: He has added the following clues to keep you all guessing:

• something providing visual and audio stimulation with minimum user input.
  
  
• something for i have personal interest and have engulfed many hours within.
  
  
• something with no connection to any of half-life's mods (tfc, counter-strike...).
  
  
• something involving the music from this file (120kb) - sort of.

He has also given a release date of April 1st.
