    GS CS: CZ Coverage

Gamespot was also at the GDC where they successfully cornered Randy Pitchford into answering some questions about, obviously, CS: CZ. You can download the video interview (which includes plenty, plenty of gameplay video) or just be lazy and read the summary.
Some mission objectives in the single-player mode will be what you'd expect from Counter-Strike: hostage rescuing, bomb diffusing, elimination of terrorist forces, and so on. Others are more unorthodox: You may have to hold a position for a certain amount of time against waves of enemies. Or you might be charged with having to finish the level without reloading your weapon or complete it with a 50 percent or greater accuracy. Gearbox is including plot-focused scenario objectives, as well as arcade-style skills tests in Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. Above all, these are designed to be fun challenges.
They have got some new info along with some dandy screenshots but mostly old stuff so they can get some hits.

My dear! Someone modified your news item!

The smoke trail for the LAW (gasp) is really cool and I'm sure the rest of the sprites or particles or whatever they use look just as sweet. Perhaps the smoke grenade won't suck total ass now.

The graphics look semi-improved, but it's understandable that they can't do much with the HL engine.

oh gracious no! who could the rascal be?

The shield also looks sweet. A guy with a shield protecting a sniper...actually, no, that involves teamwork...

But the AI looks great. Hopefully, they aren't super-smart nor super-dumb since thats basically all the single-player is.

Good interview... They updated the player models, but I wish they would put more polys in the weapons models. I'll save my judgement until I play it.

Well, this one was actually interesting, had footage, and was interviewing someone important. Unlike the scores of others.

BEST POST EVER. Go watch the movie now - it clear up any doubts you have about buying CS:CZ (presuming, of course, you ever had, or ever could have any doubts about buying CS:CZ).

Good interview, first time I've seen video of the gameplay.

But when he talked about Steam, and said they could update the code, my mind clicked: they better hope to hell someone doesn't hack the steam system, or who knows what will happen to all our computers...*shrugs*

I was wondering if anyone has asked Gearbox if they will be correcting any of the hitbox issues identified with CS. I know there are other major bugs like grenade damage through walls, and flashbangs, and shotgun pellet spreads, etc. etc. etc. The hitbox issue has always been a problem found in CS and never fully fixed yet though improved through its releases. It'd be interesting to find out if the modeling and its hitboxes and aiming code will be carried onto CS:CZ with the same faults. Even some of the other bugs if they'll be fixed to provide a more realistic gameplay.

I'm not putting down the mod because its an unbelievable achievement, but as money is a factor for CS:CZ it'd be interesting to find out that these issues can now be addressed if not already.
