review: realbot ai

Continuing our in-depth bot coverage, LuftWaffle has written up a review for the latest version of RealBot, RealBot: AI preview #2. Here's a quote:

Setting up your bots is done through an in-game menu. By default, "h" is the menu key. It's an odd little menu but it works well enough. Although the menu functions perfectly, it is very tedious to go through and add each bot. It would have been nice if there was a menu option to simply add a random bot to the team that needs one. There's another funny little option in the menu -- Internet mode. I'm sure you're all thinking that this means all of the bots will add silly little clan tags to their names, and start hopping around with DEs and AKs, but you're wrong. It just makes bots randomly connect and disconnect. I'm not sure about what the point of this is.

RB:AI is stefans best work :) Thumbs up to him. To clear up internet mode, its good for those who run bots on there server. Basicly bots join when the server is low on people, and leave as more "real" people join.

now that i've read the review, did you try rb_skill 1? that makes them the worst.



also i saw nothing about the great idea of being able to limit what weapons they use, you can choose pistols only, snipers, assault rifles, and knives i think.

like the coloured heads? That's one of the old shitty colored aimbots. Now they're made in opengl anyways.. but this looks liek a pretty old ss anyway

Acually they are made now by intercepting the client information, and using it to aim at the enemy or whatever. You can aimbot in software mode, it just doesn't look pretty

I´d say realbot is a failure, and a dissapointment, as they came so well out as bots in the beginning, and were pretty good, they still keep em as they did when the first version came out, the bots rush and never camp, that is a big f*** problem, still I play a little with em cuz they are easy targets

i used to use realbot, but i reckon the best bot out of all is POD bot.



but anywayz bots suck ass.

Review? In-Depth?

This is unsubstantiated rhetoric that reeks of favoritism - for another bot. Look - the next time you want a review of something this complex and subtle - get someone with some maturity, who has the ability to apply insight to the task. The statement "....Internet Mode - randomly come and go, I'm not sure why?..." is one good example of quickly written fluffy crap. There's no insight or thought in that statement, it's lazy and pretentious. I think it's time the critics had critics on CSN! Start asking your article posters to put some work into their articles.



I give this "Review of RealBot:AI" Three *Pfffts*.

A rating system should equal the intellectual capacity of the writer.

Really, Realbot AI Preview 2 is shite... The only radio commands the bots know are "need backup" and "taking fire need assist"......



The bots also have inhumane accuracy, while PODBot is known for its wall-hacking bots, it at least balances it out by adjusting the accuracy accordingly.... but in RB, the bots spray their AKs all over the place and can still secure headshots regularly !!!!!!!



Hence Thug, RB AI Preview 2 is a CRAPPY PIECE OF SHITE !!!!!!
