LOL!!!!! Are you serious??? All of these anti-cheat programs like CS Guard, Paladin, Cheating-Death, ECT, give people a false sense of security. They are wrong as many times as they are right. The BEST way to be sure that someone is not hacking is to watch a demo of them playing, with OGC enabled while viewing the demo (only good thing that OGC is used for).

I applaud OGL for making HLTV required because like someone above said, it requires no extra hardware, it can be run from any computer, and instead of an administrator viewing 10 individual demos, they only have to get one HLTV demo that will show every player that was in the match, thus making it easier on the administrators, the team that has to submit the demo beause they send one instead of 10, and it also shortens the dispute process that OGL uses.
BTW....I have 2 words for you Tikkanen if you were serious with what you said: WAKE UP!!!!!!Comment

OGL-Jethro: I think b2k's prob was that it isn't his computer/server. its some companies, and it requires a fee for an HLTV server.
another question. who will be on the HLTV server? do the clans need 1 more person each now to watch the thing?
also, for people with slower computers/connections this will hurt their server.
but, If it helps stop cheats, i would support it.Comment

Ender, the only requirment server-side is that spectators is turned on. So it's just a cvar setting. Most servers have this turned on anyhow and thats all HLTV requires. Once spectators is on, the HLTV proxy can be run from any computer. (a clan member that isn't playing in the match, a second comp you may have, ect.) That comp records the demo and to the server, it just looks like a spectator. If you rent a server like b2k, there should be no additional charges. I don't see how there could be.
As far as the other question about who will be watching, The OGL config for HLTV has spectators turned off. There is no requirment for anyone to watch. Our only purpose is to get the demo recorded and HLTV does that by itself, no user intervention required.
Also, HLTV takes very little bandwidth. As little a 2k. Even a modem user that wasnt doing anything else could record a HLTV demo.
I hope this helps.Comment

I bet every single on of you that are bashing OGL have played in the league.
That can only mean that your league's horrid reputation is well-deserved, as it comes from those of us who've experienced it firsthand.
... I am a current OGL admin for Several CS ladders including the largest CS Open ladder with over 300 teams competing.
And that's why OGL sucks a goat's ass. You get these 300 team ladders with only one guy running it, and the problems come faster than he can deal with it. All those dead clans that stay on the ladders for months, all the disputes that pour in every day, all those losing teams that don't report their losses, it never gets dealt with in a timely manner. My old clan was in OGL for about three months, and we only got to play three matches(against three of the shittiest clans I've ever seen, I might add) because the admin was letting us rot on the ladder with a match that was never reported. HLTV demos wouldn't have changed that.Comment
