Personally, I don't see why the elites are so pooh-poohed.
Sure, you might as well through your feces @ your enemies if you're using them @ long range.
But @ short and medium range, it just doesnt get any better. The high recoil is irrelevant, and one can engage many bogeys at a time.
The problem is that cs has become a very medium and long range game. Colts, Aks, Augs, Sgs, and AWM/P's dominte the game. If you just pick up a pair of dual berreta elites and take them for a one round spin, you're bound to be disappointed.
In order to appreciate the power of the elites, you must put yourself into the mindset of a shotgun/mac-10 user and setup short range situations.
In addition to owning in short range situations, the elites are excellent backup to a mac-10, tmp, shotty, or sniper rifle strategy.
Also, glocking is much harder than knifing. Why? Two good stabs takes out a bogey with full hp. Most people have no idea they're even being knifed, since it is rather quiet and fast. Glocks, generally, take at least 9 rounds to take out a 100 hp enemy, and, even if you take him by surprise, still take at least double the time to eliminate him, thus giving him much more time to twirl and bust a 5.56 or 7.62 in your piehole.
