Besides the instant messaging, Tracker offers some very useful game-features. First of all you can get info about the server where your friend is playing including name, IP, map, playercount, latency and you can join the server with just one click.

They have even uploaded a couple of skins for it! Worth checkin' out.

Even though now that Steam Beta is out this is totally useless, you can just go download it for yourself.

I would actually rather wait until it 'officially' comes out. I don't know whats going on right now with the Steam Beta being leaked but I do know that I would rather wait for the official deal.

I hope they make tracker unusable while dead so people playing in the same server cant use it to cheat. If they dont then alot of servers will be changing to locked chasecams and fade to black which no one wants.

Why the can't the F1 key bind be changed? Sure tracker looks great but I use F1 for something already; how would you feel if it was a key you used for something already? I don't understand why they have to do something like this; it seems they could easily make tracker a bindable function like anything else in game.

Why not just re bind your F1 key. Whatever you have bound at F1 obviously isn't super important because its at an akward spot anywhays. I could see if they had made the key Q, E, R, or other keys that you need to QUICKLY access without having to lose your WASD movement keys posistion. CS 1.3 made the capslock key bindable so you have no less closer keys then you did in CS 1.1 and below. Nothing to lose sleep over.

F1 is by far the quickest, easiest 'F' key to get to.



For that reason, I use it in all my different games for radioing/messaging "Affirmative" / "Roger that" / "Yes Sir" (etc. depending on which mod for which game I'm playing.)



I also use a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical and so I have bound one of the extra buttons (mouse5) to 'F1' specifically so that I can use that particular radio/message alias without moving my other hand from the WASD keys. (I've done exactly the same thing with F5, "enemy spotted" messages and the other extra mouse button (mouse4).)



If they are forcing you to use that one particular key to get to Tracker, that pretty much sucks IMO...

Of course you won't be forced to use F1 - as mentioned in the writing at CS-Extreme it will be optional...

will tracker be free? cus when i subscribed to it on steam it said something like for this beta version subscription will be FREE of charge......do they mean itll cost something with cs 1.4 official comes out?
