    Test CS 1.4

Valve Software has posted right here at CS-Nation that they want most beta testers.
If you'd like to participate in the beta send an email to steamsupport@valvesoftware.com stating in the topic STEAM BETA. Include all pertinent information about your PC, the OS you are running and your internet connection. Please do not send the emails directly to me, I will simply ignore them.

There is really only one requirement for getting in, you must have a broadband connection greater than or equal to 384kbps.
E-mail him and tell him that CS-Nation sent you. Thanks a lot to Rick for posting here.

Note to webmasters: we don't want Valve to get flooded, so if you want to cover this you may, but I'd discourage it -- he only meant to reach a few guys in the comments.

Wait. If I got to beta test 1.4, would de_comrade be in it? Just a question out of curiousity, because of the the recent contest..

Just a note to make sure if you sent an email, you met the specs listed. I believe most people (LPB's) run on a cable or DSL connection, and fit the 384 requirement. But if your on DSL you may want to double check, because unless you have an "upgraded" account you "may" be at only 256k. Also, it sounds as though they are looking for a wide variety of OS's. So all you Win 95, 98, Linux, XP, 2000 etc.. users be sure to get signed up! This should be nice!

Bah, why do they have to discriminate against us 56k users? :)

i think steam wouldn't work too well on such low bandwidth. not sure though.
