"People die from CS," is not positive news -- nor is it likely that these gangbangers would LIKE eachother due to any circumstance.
did you at least listen to the report? Because it doesn't come from usa today. the reporter was from npr.
besides, don't you think it's very unjournalistic for you to not post news just because it's negative news?
i gree that the gangbangers wouldn't like each other anyways, and the deaths that were reported at the internet cafes didn't seem to have anything to do with grudges over cstrike. however, ctrike seems to be perfect fuel for the gang fire. just listen to the story, then decide if it's newsworthy.
you shouldn't silence the truth just because it looks bad!One feature is one feature. e.g. a profile page would not include some sort of quote, clan history, favorite weapon, and a map to London, etc, etc.
is it because it would be to difficult? or is it rather because they would hog up to much bandwidth and/or server space?Comment

The largest error was that they were playing Counter-Strike 6 hours before the encounter and had since switched to the RTCW demo/test. I live near Garden Grove. It's gang violence and we're not a gang website :)
I wouldn't ad that stuff to a profile page because it's not part of what quantifies a profile, in my opinion. I don't think that information would benefit anyone. I see it on UKT (when I entered in my own info) and I have yet to find it useful.
But if you wanted it..Comment

wow I didnt even notice that tiny tiny bit of clipping of the thumb through the grip, damn gumplunger you can spot the tinyest of clipping errors lol. but on the other hand it cant really be helped, its just the way the anims are made, same goes for the reload anim, nothing I can do about that clipping.
/EDIT - Nighthawk thats all well and fair saying that but if you think its possible to improve that, then by all means by my guest and fix it, im telling you right now you cant compile a fiveseven better than that. whats this you speak of? the whole magazine sticks through? if your talking about on the other side of the gun that isnt seen ingame then thats because the magazine is slightly tilted to reduce the clipping in the reload anim. straighten the mag yourself then look at how bad the reload anim is. Again, if you think it can be fixed (without a major project and hours of editing anims etc) then by all means explain to me how or better yet, if your not happy with it, compile it yourself. thats what I do.
/EDIT2 - I see what Nighthawk was talking about, the clip sticks through the back of the gun(the side you never see ingame except for 0.00025 seconds in the reload anim/draw) i took a screenie here to show you

again this is because of the reason mentioned above. would you rather have the magazine clipping through the side of the grip you see all the time? or the side you never see at all hardly? Night hawk your going overboard when you say it ruins the whole thing without hearing the reason why its like that. (omg theres actually a reason for it being like? and its not just a simple mistake?) Believe me nighthawk, I dont make many mistakes. I go back to my original statement, if you think you can improve it nighthawk then by all means be my guest.Comment

That's happening because Andeh recompiles all the oldies to his high standard and submits them. Thus creating the best replacements.
Nighthawk, check the default 57 - it's the same.
/Edit
Wait, what are you talking about, the only time the magazine (correct term nerdy mcnerd) clips while playing the anim in slow motion is when re-inserting. It goes through the hand and then through the front of the mag well but it isn't anything noticeable and like I said it does it in the default version.Comment

It's decent, but honestly it needs a lot of work still.
The clipping is actually fairly outrageous, when you look at the clip. You see, it doesn't just mess up when you're reloading, but rather the ENTIRE CLIP IS STICKING OUT THE FAR SIDE OF THE GUN AT ALL TIMES. It's almost like he couldn't figure out how to fit the clip in the handle of the gun or something. We're not talking about the clip sticking out a fraction of an inch, either. More like the entire clip being shoved halfway outside of the gun in a big, bulky, and horribly ugly mess of a visual catastrophe.
This shows up very blatantly several times in different animations where you're lowering the gun. At least the idle animation looks fine. Really, though, if you're going to mess with the animations, why not go ahead and remove the pointless "hitting the slide release" part of the reload animation, since there isn't a slide release to hit in the first place? Call me picky, but too many of these errors start compounding and creating a giant mess.
Additionally, the inside of the chamber isn't modeled even remotely close to correctly, so you see this horribly ugly flat cut-off chamber and barrel section every time you run out of bullets or reload, and it sits there for long enough to be downright ugly.
So yeah, while the skinning is quite good (aside from the overly dark top of the bolt), the modeling and animations both need some very noticeable improvement, which is rather disappointing. I hate to see models with good potential be marred with flaws like these...Comment
