mailbag: changes

I've posted this week's mailbag. Counter-Strike 1.4 implements major changes to the abused jumping. What other changes to CS do you think have been long overdue?

That last mailbag entry prompted me to recall something I hate in cs, and thats automatic weapon pick up. I try to go through the first 2-3 rounds depending on which team wins with just my usp, armor and grenades to accumlate some cash, and there is nothing I hate more than running over a weapon and having it automatically become the weapon in hand. Coz then I die. Automatic pick up can stay, but dont make the weapon you pick up come into your hands.

The only things i want from Counter-Strike 1.4 and the next Half-Life is NO CHEATS! Maybe a release date too :-)

That's a pretty hard thing to achieve, but I hope that too. I wish we could just say "CHEATS BEGONE!" and all those darn cheats will disappear. But then again.. *sigh* this is how things go. I hope we will be able to find some way.. some way that works.. to abolish all cheating.. not ONLY cs, but ALL THE INTERNET MULTIPLAYER GAMES IN THE WORLD!!!! *pant* *pant* *falls dead*

Automatic pick up can stay, but dont make the weapon you pick up come into your hands.

Automatic pickup is usefull more then it is a hassel in my opinion. But if it did work where it would auto pickup but not take it out automaticly then I think it would be more of a hassel. Only time it sux is when the gun happens to be empty of only a few rounds in it but Id much rather take the chance and if it was empty throw it down or switch real quick then have to switch to the gun every time I picked it up. Also there is a sense of realism there because if you pick a weapon up it would be in your hands not on your back of hanging over your shoulder. Now that is about all the realism Id want. I dont want to have it where I got to bend over and pick it up. I dont care if that would be the most realistic way. It would be the boring way.
