Once CAL is pay-to-play 2/3 or more people in the league will drop out... Now I WILL put 5 dollars on that. :\

No he's like, "I'm Sublyme from CS Nation, would you mind doing an interview?". Then theres an awkward 5 second pause because they realize he used his INTERNET HANDLE in real life. Then they have the interview.Comment

That just proves how cheap people in CAL are then I guess. $5 is very minimal and it's to a good cause, because consider how many people have been doing there jobs for free up until that point. They deserve it.

CAL doesn't deserve my money until a new staff is implied. Most of the admins are bias and are inconsistent in their rulings. I believe the pay system will force CAL to get a more professional staff, but this will require some testing. This is why I think the first pay season will be a little sketchy due to bad admins and etc, but I believe the seasons after that will be better because CAL will clean their staff up.
This is what I hope for anyway, don't know what rightfully will happen.Comment

CAL has been operating without a fee for all the previous seasons... why make us pay now? All these people who say "Oh, its only 5 dollars" need to think about what they are saying and who they are saying it to. Most of the participants in CAL are at or below the age of 18. Sure they can raise 5 bucks (or get if from parents) but how are they supposed to get it to CAL? They dont have credit card... or paypal.
So IMHO I would never pay CAL. There are many other leagues out there that are free. This is my opinion and it is never going to change.Comment

Hi everyone, I just wanted to pop in and make a correction or two. The name of the joint is Pizza By Marco, not Marko's.
Angel and I have been great friends for a number of years but the only thing he suggested to me was adding a low carb pizza. It took me a while to get the ingredients right but I did and it's awesome. Business has increased 300% but the low carb pizza only accounts for about 10% of all pizzas we make.
Will I return to gaming? One never knows but my focus as of today is on makin pizza pies!!
Be good everyone!

Nice interview...
As for the pay to play, I think it is a good idea for many reasons. Those who say they will not pay can go play in other leagues, but I think they will start to realize that CAL is only getting better with the new system of paying to play per season. I've seen many excuses as to why people think they should not have to pay, such as, "The day Brett Farve has to pay to be in the NFL is the day I will pay to play in CAL". Comments like this are just silly since nobody in esports has the status of "Brett Farve" or any other person playing in a sport that generates Billions of dollars a year. I'm 22 years old but I played baseball growing up and this just reminds me of back in Little League/Babe Ruth/American Legion/fall baseball, where you had to pay like $25-75 to play for the season. Costs paid for umpires, balls, and team stuff.. I pay $5 a month for gotfrag prime account, I threw some money to csnation, nationalist or not, I still did it in good faith, and I will pay to play in CAL because I know it will help the league in many ways.
PS, I'll keep my Doom3 comments to myself so they won't have to be deleted(#10)

because they didnt take zex seriously, let them take quite a few rounds, went for the comeback like they always do and zex mad them pay for it. Was a good match still, but if 3d didnt go for the comeback they might have made it, but shrug.
one good point made was that the CAL-I finals were completely eclipsed... heck I don't remember even hearing about the playoffs... I'm curious to hear how 3D ended such a great cal-i season without winning.
coulda woulda shoulda.Comment

Absolutely no amnesia over here, I'm simply stating the facts which are you had nothing to do with the increase in business here other than suggesting to me that I create a whole wheat pizza. You took no part in the marketing, advertising, remodling, online ordering, nationwide overnight delivery or the three awards we received this year.
