    Read All About it

USA Today online has posted up an interesting article on how cybercafes have "exploded" into gaming hang outs for fast paced action games like Counter-Strike.
"Most of my customers have computers and DSL lines at home," says Lee, who has lived in the USA for 12 years. "But they come to my place because they want to play with their friends, sitting right next to each other."

I'm surpris3d nobody posted anything about this article...it had a definitely negative slant, yet I'd say it was a justified concern. It's sad that people, especially kids, would take something like a game so seriously as to be moved to violence.

I was the one that sent it in due to it's negativity and it's mistake of saying Valve created Diablo 2. The guy who created it should get a good ol' fashion admin_slap.

It's not the game that moves a person to violence. There are usually other issues that are unrelated that move a person to violence.

For example, most people who smoke pot don't have any major problems and are healthy. However, most depressed people who have major problems have done illegal drugs including pot. You see how that works? Psychologists look at the profiles of troubled people, notice that they smoked pot at some point, and figure it must be the reason they're screwed up.

So in comparison, most kids that play Counter-Strike aren't violent at all, but there are a lot of violent kids out there who have played or are playing CS right now.

The Columbine attackers played Doom, but if Doom was the problem then why isn't everyone who played Doom as a kid shooting up their school?
