    Strat Guide @ $9.99

Remember that Counter-Strike Official Strategy Guide featured right here on CS-Nation and even on Counter-Strike.net? Well a lot of you seemed to notice that it was quite pricey, at $20.00. Fear not, fellow citizens, EBWorld now carries it for only $9.99. That's half price, cheapo!

In case you forgot, this book is published by Versus books and was written by members of the stunning clan, Xtreme 3.

I got the book for free at my Software Etc. it's an okay book, nothing we didn't already knew. N00bs might like it though.

i bet it's worth it. i recently went to a lan party with my buddies and we found out that 5v5 clan matches are a lot different than playing on public servers. i only know public strategy, and wouldn't mind learning a little bit about how to play well as a team against another team.

edit- we got owned 14-0. but that's okay. we got seeded against the number 2 overall team that almost beat the number one team. The number one team had ksharp.

A printed book, about an online FPS... This is silly. But hey, if people are buying it, then it mustve been worth making I guess.

But really, if you play counter-strike, you have an internet connection. So why pay for a book when all that info is right here for free? In an RPG I can understand, there are billions of numerical stats for all the different characters and creatures, so a book is more handy. But for a FPS? I dont understand who would need that.

I think part of the idea is that you're paying for information that is exclusive. i.e. not on the internet.

i'm not sure how much x3 will give away as far as their strats are concerned, but i'm interested.

this is something i would like to parouse in a bookstore to make sure i wanted before i bought it.

and to those of you who say it's sad: STFU!

This is the way that I look at it: Counter Strike is a hobby, just like chess. Both are games, and both are fun. If I were to buy a book about chess, you wouldn't say that's sad, now would you?

There are plenty of sources on the net where you can "borrow" ideas from. Its cheaper than spending $9.99US.

I agree with AlltheWhile, CS is a hobbie, and the only way you can get good at it is alot of practise! (h4x0rs use OGC anyways)!
