More from the ever-growing world of anti-cheat... Mediator is a tool for Half-Life server admins who run Cheating-Death on their server, it helps modify it so that newbs can play on your server without needing Cheating-Death. Since I'm no good at explaining, here's the creator himself:

Mediator enforces a Cheating-Death policy somewhere in between Optional and Required modes. Only players who have a good kill/death ratio are required to run C-D. This allows newbies to enjoy the server while preventing cheaters from ruining game play.

i just got done playin CS . Havent played it in roughly 6 months, funny though, i pwned and the n00bs bitched.

I like CS Guard so much better, it is VERY effective, although there are times when there are cheaters, but since the server I play on constantly has admins, they are eliminated quickly.

That is gay, not all cheaters have good k/d ratios. A lot of cheaters simply suck because they are n00bs. I'm an admin for multiple servers and there are 3 types of cheaters.



1. n00bies that suck even with the cheats

2. Attention getters, they make it obvious that they cheat to get attention

3. Good cheaters, they are not n00bs, and don't make it obvious with good k/d ratios

I saw a guy on yesterday who had aimbot and speed hack...the server was using CS-Guard. Nothing is that hard to get around.

okay..who would want to bother with first cheating on a .:c-d protected:. server, attain a ratio of 1:1 or better, and then switch to spectie all for the sake of attempting to get around the mediator? on top of that, isn't the whole hoopla of cheating-death the fact that it's not only cheat detection, but also prevention, in the sense that any person running the client while testing newly undetectable cheats will be rendered completely useless as it will disrupts its flow? and if they're not running the client, the mediator would just kick em anyhoo. c|d+mediator=teh winz
